It was a nice evening and, at the Police Department, Detective Kate Beckett was writing her report. After a few minutes, former M.E. Lanie Parish approached her desk "Hey! It's almost ten o'clock. What are you doing here?"

"I'm writing the report. Captain Gates wants it on her desk tomorrow!"

"Oh, ok. I've wanted to invite you at the bar for a drink, but I can go alone... See you tomorrow, bye!"

"Bye!" Said Kate, but she looked up again "Lanie, wait!"

"Yes? Do you need something?"

"No no, but if you want company, Esposito is in the parking lot! He went out five minutes before your arrive."

"I'll go to find him!" Answered the M.E., taking her phone and dialing Javier's number for calling him.

Kate ended her report around half past ten and she leaved it on Gates' office, upon her desk, then she take her red coat, wearing it but, when she was ready to go toward the elevator, she noticed someone asleep in the break room.

The Detective looking into it and she was surprised to find Alexis Castle, the only daughter of Richard's, the famous writer and former partner. Kate looked at her for a moment, then she placed a hand on the girl's back to wake her "Alexis? Alexis, wake up."

The young redhead opened her eyes slowly, finding Kate's beautiful smile "Oh, Beckett. What time is it?"

"It's half past ten in the evening. What are you doing here?"

"I was waiting for you."

"Why?" Asked the Detective "Why are you waiting for me?"

"Because I... Um... I-I want to go with you at that new ice-cream parlour. Do you want to come or you are tired?"

"I'm a bit tired, but I'll come with you." Said Kate, smiling a bit "You have waited for me and I can't deny an invitation. So, are you ready to go?"

"Yes! Yes, I am!" Answered Alexis, happily.

Instead, Kate and her father divorced three months ago after their wedding, because the writer cheated on the Detective with his ex wife and Kate leaved him instantly, returning to her apartment. And Alexis, after her new delusion in love, fell in love with the Detective.

She always was in love with Kate Beckett, a strong, sweet and gentle woman. A fantastic Detective, proud and intelligent. Her ideal type of love.

When they exited the building, the two girls walked through the streets, arriving at the new ice-cream parlour in twenty minutes, chatting with each other friendly, like two best friends.

"We're here! After you." Said Kate.

"Oh, thank you." Answered Alexis and, when arrived their turn, Kate take an ice-cream with chocolate and strawberry, then Alexis take an ice cream with pistachio and cream "Hey! This is delicious. Very delicious!"

"Yeah, it's good! I'll come here again."

"Me too! We can come here together."

"It's a nice idea, Alexis. I love it and maybe we can come here tomorrow. I have the day free!"

Alexis smiled to her and, when they ended the ice-cream, the young redhead stared at Kate's features "Ok! I'll ask ten minutes of free time to Lanie."

They settled on a bench near Central Park, enjoy the company "You know..." Started Kate "When I divorced to your father, I was sure I never found love again."

"Me too. After Ashley I didn't want someone else."

"But now, I'm feeling better with you."

"I'm feeling wonderfully here! You are incredible, Kate. And I... Um... I love you..."

Kate was increduolous "You... You what?"

"I love you, Kate Beckett! God, I love you from the first time!" Admitted the girl "I never told you because I know you loved my father. But after your divorce, I started to see a new chance for me..."

Kate didn't answer, but she closed the space with Alexis and placed a soft kiss upon her lips "I love you too, Alexis. I love you too!"

And Alexis smiled happily, hugging Kate and kiss her again, really this time. A new love was born.
