Spirit Checkup
Authors Note: This is just some random thing I typed up in like fourty minutes (I'm a slow typer, ok?). I finally got my computer to play YouTube videos, so I had to try and find some BatB ones, and this is the result. I felt like I was kind of checking in on Vincent, so that's where this is from. The other womans name is Alessia. She was in one of my permanently-unfinished stories that I may or may not have deleted... Think of her as a guardian angel who's job it is to get Vincent and Catherine together.
Yes, Brianna is an X-Man, sometimes (an Ex-X-Man?). She'll often venture off on her own and come home a little worse for wear, but she always helps the professor if he needs her.
Disclaimer: Idon't own Vincent, the tunnels, or anything other than Brianna and Alessia. You can borrow Alessia, but email me first, and try to keep her relatively undamaged. Brianna you take at you own risk. She bites.
Brianna tossed her coat onto the floor as she stepped into her house, and within moments she was headed upstairs to her room. When she got there, she lay down on her bed, and soon was deep into her meditation. After a few minutes of quiet inside her own head, she let herself drift, and before she knew it, was back in New York. With barely a thought from her, she was miles beneath the city, and standing in a chamber lit by candles. Smiling, she looked down at the man lying on the bed, much as she was. Reaching out one ghostly hand, she brushed his cheek, and even though he wouldn't be able to see her had he been awake, he stirred slightly. Brianna didn't start when she heard a voice- she had been expecting this.
"He'll be all right."
"Sometimes I doubt that."
"We all do." A woman a little shorter than she was came to stand beside her. "He's very special." Brianna had to smile at that.
"Yes."
"So is yours. I won three easy assignments on him."
"I doubt he'd be glad to hear that anyone won money off him."
"So don't tell him."
"I wasn't planning to. He wouldn't believe me anyway."
"Yes, he would, you just don't want to upset your life."
"Touché. We've finally gotten this far without killing the other, I want to keep things as normal as possible."
"Brianna, you're dating an ex con man-turned fed. You are currently teaching at Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters. Your relationship is anything but normal."
"True enough. Are you sure he's going to be okay?"
"As sure as I ever can be. He was harder to convince than most, but it was easier to see what was coming for him. I'm gonna get a gold star for this one, if he ever gets his butt in gear. In all my time at this job, I have never met such a stubborn man."
"He can be stubborn. But he can be a lot of things."
"He is lots of things."
"I know. He's one of the best friends I ever had. I want him to be happy."
"If I have anything to do with it, he will be." Brianna nodded, a smile plucking at the corners of her mouth. Leaning down, she kissed his forehead, brushing away his bangs from him eyes. With that, she vanished, spirit heading back to her body.
When she had gone, the shorter woman sat in the chair closest to the bed, and scowled at the oblivious figure on the bed. "Now, Vincent. About your recent bout of stubbornness. I have something to say about that, and I know I'll regret it later because your so lovable, which is why I'm saying it while you're asleep. So. You damned stubborn, ungrateful..."
