The Jungle
Prologue
An empty wind howled on a deserted lunar landscape. Construction of the new terra-forming colonies had come to a halt as the workers left their workstations to take part in the Alliance festivities. This week would commemorate the end of the Eve wars, a distant wound the world had yet to heal from.
It had been a decade since White Fang had plunged towards the earth, promising to deliver its dark, slumbering payload of death. A decade since the earth's last angel fell from the sky, a decade since the threat of complete and utter destruction had for one all to brief period of time, united the hearts and souls of men and women worldwide. Much had happened since in the last ten years.
The Preventers had come and, at least to the best of the public's knowledge, gone. The gundams were a large scar gradually receding in the publics mind. However, despite the best efforts to demilitarize all colonies as well as all of earth, humans have not been able to destroy all their war toys.
The L4 colony cluster had even gone as far as declaring hostilities towards any and all attempts by the United Earth Sphere Alliance to demilitarize the colonies. Though no other colony had gone as far as to do likewise, they did not condemn such measures, increasing the already mounting tensions between colonies and the earth.
It came as a huge surprise, then, when the UESA commissioned the construction of new colonies on the Moon. An effort to unite the colonies and earth, the project hoped to draw in the immense resources of all the colonies, resources that might otherwise be used in the construction of more mobile suits and weaponry.
The most were eager to contribute, one cluster, L2 colony cluster refused to participate in the construction, claiming political neutrality. Under the leadership of L2's prime minister, Adrian Veidt, the cluster had become increasingly hostile to any and all visitors. Attempts to open discussions with the colony have failed and immigration to and out of the colony has slowed to a crawl. As the year AC 206 slowly approaches, the world begins to move towards war once more.
