A/N : unlike the rest of the world, I just got into this song. I liked owl city before, just not this song is particular. Anyhow I wanted to do the usual lyric fiction mix.

Stealing across the red grass and through the silver trees Theta was unstoppable. Koschei ran after his hearts pounding in his chest faster than the echo of drums. The light of two moons lit their path through the trees. Theta finally reached the clearing he'd been running for. He ran to the top of the hill throwing up his arms and beaming with over excitement.

Koschei got to the end of the trees and stopped. Surely his lungs would explode if he didn't stop. He leaned against a tree to catch his breath. Looking up at Theta he could believe his eyes. Fireflies. Earth buggys. Rising from the grass and surrounding an overjoyed Theta. All either of them could do was stare.

You would not believe your eyes if ten million fireflies lit up the world as I fell asleep.
'Cause they fill the open air and leave teardrops everywhere. You'd think me rude but I would just stand and stare.

Alone at the Tardis console, naturally. He looked to either side of the room before going into his bedroom. He never really slept, but maybe it was a good time to start. He had not companion, no enemy, no one to remember with.

Lying back on his bed he look at the wall next to his pillow. At first it seemed like any other post it around the ship. He looked away before tearing it off the wall in realization. The Master had left him a post it. It was so normal, so average, it made the Doctor feel as if he were asleep.

I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly. It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm sleep, 'cause everything is never as it seems.

Koschei followed the path to the clearing by memory. Everything told him Theta would be there. The first time they came when they were ten established that this was Theta's safe haven. He reached the tree line and gazed up at Theta standing all alone, no fire fly friends.

Koschei broke the seven year vow to never enter Theta's space. He ran up the hill and tackled Theta. Rolling the grass, struggling and laughing. It was good.

Dusting off the red grass they laughed. Suddenly surrounded by thousands of fire flies Koschei took Theta's hand in his. With an audience of fire flies they practiced dances from the restricted section earth books. With shy kisses and unrestrained joy, it was a night well spent under the moons of Gallifrey

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs from ten thousand lightning bugs as they tried to teach me how to dance. A fox trot above my head, a sock hopped beneath my bed, a disco ball is just hanging by a thread.

The Doctor held the note that read Theta, you pillow smells good and why do you not stock coffee? Ps. Where is your flubble? So it wasn't the kind of message you want the last of your kind to be remembered by. But to the Doctor it was the most beautifully stupid piece of paper.

He held it close in the middle of his two beating hearts. Looking out the window he watched the earth rotating as silent hot tears began to soak into his pillow.

I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly. It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm sleep, 'cause everything is never as it seems.
