I've written fanfiction before, but this is the first I've published. I'm looking for a beta reader... or just someone to share my crazy ideas and horrible first drafts with. ... Another person who has an obsession of Danny/Vlad father/son. I LOVE that. It's the only fluff I can stand! * grins* Oh! Right story.... *cough* This is rather lame, but it's the best thing I written so far. (Accept maybe this three shot... But I want to see if anyone can stand my awful writting skills -or lack ther I should say.)

Pawn

In Vlad Master's eyes life is a game of chess. People are pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, kings or queens. He is sick of a certain pawn's interference so he decides to remove the opponent piece from the battlefield. However he must chose just what to do with the piece and if Daniel Fenton is really a mere fourteen year old pawn.

He stared down at the unconscious teenager lying down on the helicopter seat. It had been so impulsive, completely unplanned, and utterly ridicules. But Vlad Masters could not bring himself to regret it. Why?
He didn't know the answer. All he knew is that the anger at his young rival; Daniel Fenton –or Phantom– had driven him to an extreme the man didn't know existed. He had let the fury run wild without a though of the consequences… He only just managed to stop himself in time.

'Time for what?' the older hybrid questioned. 'In time before I killed him…?' But hadn't that been his intentions? Isn't that reason he'd let his emotions consume him?

He had wanted to kill the boy not kidnap him! But Vlad still didn't know what he was going to do with the kid. Would he force the boy to submit to him? That had been his original plan… not to harm the boy …to help. Why? Why had the child rejected him?! No man or ghost managed to cross Vlad Masters! What made Daniel different?

…Wasn't he just a pawn?

"…I used two four teen year old pawns to topple a king. It's chess, Daniel. You wouldn't understand."

He started at remembering his own words. Was this teenager only a pawn to him?

"One day you will join me by choice… you and your mother..."

If the boy was only a pawn why had he gone to such lengths to attain him? Why hadn't he finished "Danny Phantom" off months ago? Why was the boy still breathing if he was the only thing standing in the way between himself and Maddie?
The private helicopter and he numbly moved the child into his limousine. Vlad knew what the boy was. He knew what he'd do with the younger hybrid.

"No," Vlad Masters murmured aloud. "Daniel is not a mere pawn… at least not any more…"
