I. Summer, San Bejinndino...

GoGo peered out of the airplane window passively; anything was better then listening to Fred talk more about building a new teleporter to go and retrieve a baby dragon from a different dimension. Which, she knew, was entirely possible but they had much more important things to think about. For one, the five of them were going to see Hiro after nearly 14 months.

Also, Tadashi would have been twenty-one today...

The Korean girl felt a hand on her shoulder. She peered through the seats as Honey smiled at her in understanding. GoGo nodded quietly before laying her cheek against the cool glass; she closed her eyes.

...

"I can't believe you're unveiling your invention to the world!" Aunt Cass said over the ear piece Hiro had in his ear. "It's a good thing you book way in advance."

The nearly sixteen-year-old suppressed a smile, "I miss you too." Her nephew told her as he placed a fully-prepped speech on his wooden stand, pressing down hard to make it flat. "I've got it right this time."

She chuckled. "You mean this time you hope no one steals it." Aunt Cass had been surprisingly supportive considering everything Hiro had kept from her, "Oh," she paused to turn to someone. "Hold on, Baymax-,"

"Hello, Hiro!"

Hiro grinned under his lamp light.

"Hey, Maxie. What did I say about hacking lines?"

"Oh."

The teen clutched at his head and held back laughter as Baymax went through the supposedly quick, really methodical process of serving his own line and then accepting Aunt Cass's phone. Hiro took in a breath.

"How has the team been?" he asked in a rush.

"Five apprensions, one warning, eighteen citations."

Forever literal.

"Parking tickets?"

"Yes."

Hiro didn't ask how Baymax was, nor did he tell him.

"I'm looking forward to see you," the teen was quick to tell him earnestly. His eyes pricked a little at this.

There was a pause. "Tadashi's birthday is today."

"I know," Hiro clipped through, breathing hard.

"We're all really looking forward to see you too, sweetie, it's been too long!" Aunt Cass told him.

"I know, love you." He said.

"Love you, too." Aunt Cass spoke once more.

Hiro waited for Baymax to respond but the line blanked out. The teen quietly laid all of his plans down and went to lie down on his bed. He inhaled and exhaled slowly as he remembered over a year ago how Baymax had developed full sentience; a difficult time considering it was illegal to harbor a self-aware robot. But this law was changing as long as Baymax was with humans, this being supported by Krei and Abigail, he was essentially allowed to exist.

But in San Benjinndino, even though robots still had not more then two rights, they could come and go as they pleased in San Bejinndino. This wasn't anything Hiro especially worried about, no, it was that he and his loved ones had not video-chatted in ten months.

To be continued...
