The night dragged on, as I kissed her deeply, running my hands allover her body. She was moaning, obviously enjoying it. I, on the other hand, couldn't quite place how I felt. I stared down at her, breathing heavily. She was beautiful, stunning infact. But It was strange, I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
Closing my eyes for a moment, I took a deep breath, opening them again. Monica was no longer lying there, but had taken the form of someone else. He recognised her almost instantly, her sweet scent, her smile, her long brown hair ...
And not forgetting her eyes, her bright blue eyes. They were deep pools of blue, and when I looked into them, I could see it all. I knew she felt the same way, why else would she be under me, right now? I couldn't resist her, It was all too much. Leaning forwards, I kissed her passionately, wrapping my arms around her waist. It was then that I made the biggest mistake of my life.
"Rachel ..." I moaned, leaning in further. The word had escaped my lips before I could stop myself, and for a moment the scene seemed to freeze as Monica's heart was ripped in half. I could actually see her expression changing in slow motion. Before, she had been smiling. Now, she was looking repugant.
I didn't know what to say. I could only watch as she absorbed what had just happened, and when she lashed out at me with her fist, I couldn't stop her, but only feel the white hot pain seering right through my body. But I understood how she felt about it. I'd just said Rachel's name, not hers.
"What did you say?" She spat, standing over and giving me a look of deepest disgust as I lay sprawled on the floor.
I said nothing.
"Answer me!" Monica screamed, her arms flailing around in the air as she broke down completely, tears splashing down her cheeks as she fought to keep control. I could hardly blame her, I'd just broken her heart. Just by saying that one word. That one name. I had destroyed her.
"I - I -" But I suddenly stopped myself, realising that nothing I could say would make a difference. The truth was out now, and It would only be a matter of time before Rachel and the others found out. All I could do was watch as Monica gave me a look of deepest disgust, rooted to the spot, glaring at me. I stared down at the floor.
There was nothing more to say.
