Rainy Days

The clock showed 6 in the evening when Fuji took a glance at it. Instead of the usual orangey golden sunset sky, dark rain clouds began to gather signaling a wet night ahead. Fuji turned his attention from the sky to Tezuka who was reading the Biology reference book intently in front of him. A smile crept upon Fuji's face. Quietly, Fuji gathered his books and withdrew his chair.

"You are going already?" Tezuka asked while Fuji merely smiled, nodded in response and walked out of the library.

Tezuka looked at the clock hanging on the library's wall and decided that he should be off too. He began to stack up the reference books that he was reading and was about to return them back when he noticed a pile of Biology notes lying on the table, exactly where Fuji was sitting earlier. Suspecting that Fuji might have left it behind, Tezuka stowed it inside his school bag and plan to return to Fuji in school the next day. After piling up the stack of reference books onto the counter, Tezuka made his way out of the library and in a distance; he could hear the thunders rolling. He rummaged through his school bag for an umbrella but to his dismay, there was none. Well, guess he has to make do without one then as he walked out onto the streets and into the train station. At least he won't be caught in the rain as long as he took the train plus his house is quite near the station.

There were many people waiting for the train and when it arrived, it was so packed that Tezuka decided that he will take the next one. Sitting down on the bench, he took out his timetable and began to look through tomorrow's subjects. A note scribbled on the top left corner reminded him of tomorrow's Biology test and Tezuka suddenly remembered, Fuji's Biology notes are with him! He quickly put away the timetable and walked quickly to the other side of the station where he will take a different train to Fuji's house. Thankfully the train wasn't as packed as the train he encountered earlier and he boarded it. It took him 10 minutes and when he stepped out of the station, it was raining cats and dogs. Taking the shuttle, he escaped the rain but when the shuttle stopped in front of Fuji's house, Tezuka had no choice but to get wet.

The door bell rang, surprising Fuji who was preparing his dinner in the kitchen. When he opens the door, he was in for another major surprise. Seeing Tezuka standing outside his house, dripping wet in the rain made Fuji hard to conceal his shock.

"Tezuka! What are you doing here?" Fuji asked as he let Tezuka into the house.

"I came to return you your Biology notes that you've left in the library," Tezuka answered as Fuji closed the door and went to the bathroom to get a towel.

"You don't have to especially since it is raining heavily outside. You can give it to me in school tomorrow," Fuji said as Tezuka took the towel from him and began to wipe his spectacles before wiping his wet face.

"We have a Biology test tomorrow, Fuji" Tezuka said as he put on the spectacles and looked around Fuji's living room. Fuji didn't reply but instead he gave Tezuka a warm smile, took the wet towel and headed into the kitchen.

"Mum and sis went shopping so they won't be back so early. Yuuta didn't come back for dinner today. I have to cook my own dinner tonight. Tezuka, do you want some hot soup?" Fuji asked from the kitchen. Tezuka walked into the kitchen and his stomach gave a slight growl which he couldn't hide. Fuji smiled, scooped some creamy mushroom soup from the pot into two bowls and placed them onto the dining table.

"This is my specialty, Fuji's Mushroom Soup. Try it" Fuji said as Tezuka took a seat and began to drink the soup. Tezuka nodded in approval in which Fuji returned with a smile. Meanwhile the thunderstorm continues to rage outside.
