"I don't trust myself with you." Like they're trying to prove his point, Riku's hands grip her arms tightly, almost enough to hurt, pulling her close and pushing her away all at once.
"I do." Xion's gasping, trying to cover it so Riku can't misinterpret her reaction. "I know you—you won't hurt me. You won't let yourself."
"At least one of us has faith in me." Riku leans forward despite himself; Xion's heart races faster than she thought possible—
—he propels himself away at the last moment, moodily turning his back to her while she watches him leave.
Surprise! Happy holidays! A gift drabble from me to all of you. :D Actually, I have an ulterior motive for posting—don't worry, most of this is purely for your entertainment, but I've got a few notes and questions for you guys.
Firstly, to those of you still waiting for the new chapter of "The New Future's Face," I'm sorry it's taking me so long. (This is why I wasn't originally going to post it... but hey, I'm a glutton for punishment.) I've got a combination of writer's block and what Knight-Dawn calls "writer's jam." I've got some really good ideas for the main part of the story—but I'm stuck on the groundwork that needs to be written early in for the important plot lines to make sense. :P Thank goodness for Christmas break... ;)
Secondly, I'm a horrible, horrible friend. Really, I am. Not only have I failed at keeping up with everyone's stories and reviewing them, but I owe a super huge shout-out to MegaWallflower. Early on in the writing of TNFF, I was tossing around ideas with her, and that lead to her drawing a few pictures based on the scenes we came up with. If you go to my profile, I have links to the first two she drew, and there's a colored version of one of them at that site. Pleeeaaase, go check them out!
Thirdly, I'm very curious—in the past month my laptop's gotten the same malware three times, and each time it's been bad enough that I've had to go to System Restore. At first I thought it was LiveJournal, but it continued happening after I quit using the site. Now I believe it was KH13, a forum and blog that kept up to date with Kingdom Hearts news. I was just curious to see if anyone else has had a similar problem or knew if someone else had.
And finally... who else is freakin' excited for 3D? 8DDD The trailer is amazing!... even if I'm almost crying over the fact that Xion was in there for five seconds and that Axel's in there... :D
