Day of the G.O.A.T test,

Location:Vault Clinic

War. War never changes.

In the year 2078 the atomic fires of man destroyed most of the human race and planet. Those that were left lived in what was now known as the Capital Wasteland. The once bright perfect example of society as well as the capital of the United States of America. Most of the survivor's of humanity emerged from large vaults underground. Some became Raiders, other died, and many build settlements like Megaton, Rivet City, and others. But for those in Vault 101 those doors remained sealed shut. Untouched by the outside.

Ruled by Overseer Alomdavor, the vaults residents lived unaware of the outside world. But some of it's most important personal like the vault's head physician, Doctor Catherine Green was actually from the outside. a woman who was in desperate need of protection for her and her infant daughter that made a deal with the Alomdavor in exchange for being the vaults new physician.

Catherine had brought her daughter to the vault to raise and care for her in safety after her losing her Husband James and nearly losing her secret lover Cross. Though James was her husband he had become sterile due to his work on purifing water and fresh food of radiation. Thankfully Cross, her best friend who also had deep feelings for her was there. Cross had been born a hermaphrodite and with James approval and blessing had impregnated Catherine. Three days later James had died during an attack on the purifer by super mutants.

Before James had died he had told Cross that wanted her to take care of Catherine because Catherine had loved her seens they had first meet and he was happy for them. Cross had promised him that she would love Catherine and raise their daughter well.

Catherine had left Cross after they had arrived at Vault 101. Cross had argued with her but Catherine had told her that she had a duty to Elder Lyons and her fellow brothers and sisters of Steel. Cross, with a tearful nod agreed and after a final kiss they parted ways.

But as time passed Catherine began to have thoughts of the research and work she had abandoned. She wondered if she could still do something. Catherine then began to a plan into motion. After doing small tests with her assistant Jonas She realized the vaults equipment was not stable enough for what she needed. She had to leave the vault and return to Project Purity.

But first she had to make sure her daughter was ready to go on with her life without her guidance.

Catherine stood in front of her 16 year old daughter shinning a small pen light in her eyes before clicking it on and putting it in her lab coat pocket.

'As far as I can tell, you perfectly healthy sixteen year old girl. So yes, you have to go to class to take your G.O.A.T exam! ' Catherine told her daughter as she finished examining her.

Tess Green slide of the examination table as her mother sat behind her desk. She walked up to her desk running her left hand through her shoulder length chestnut hair.

At age 16, every Vault resident takes the Generalised Occupational Aptitude Test, or the G.O.A.T., which helps determine job placement.

'I know the test gives you the job that you will have the rest of your live in the vault honey, but I know you'll ace it like a champion!' Catherine said as she gave her a warm calming smile that she returned, her green eyes sparkling behind her tinted glasses.

Tess Green, daughter of Star Palidin Cross and Catherine Green was as smart as her parents as well as a bit head strong. Since she could walk she loved taking things apart and putting them back togther. When she grew older she spend more time with Stanley the vault's head engineer working on Andy the vaults Mister Handy robot, as well as spending time with him and Jonas in the clinic. She also spend every moment of her free time exploring abandoned parts of the vault , looking for things to scavenge and books to read up on, such as hand to hand training and military tactics.

' If you say so, Mom' Tess said as she turned to exit her motherss office.

'Hey, it's not my call. But I'm sure you will do alright.' Catherine said as she left the clinic office. As she walked out of the clinic she ran into Jonas her mothers assistant who was examining Stanley, who was in the clinic for his daily check up.

'Good morning! Stopped by to see the mother hen before class eh?' Jonas said as she passed him. Tess only gave a wave and smile to both him and Stanley as she exited the clinic. She then turned right outside of the clinic. The class room was located outside of the clinic just down the hall from it

As she neared the class room she saw her best friend Amata surrounded by Butch and his two friends, Paul and Wally.

'Get out of my way you stupid Tunnel Snakes!' Amata shouted. 'I can show you a real Tunnel Snake Amata.' Butch taunted as he grabbed Amata by her arms and pulled her towards him as she cried out and struggled. Just as he was about to kiss her a punch hit him square in the face sending him straight into the wall.

'Get away from her you stupid assholes!' Tess shouted as she punched Paul in the face before delivering a round house kick to Wally as he charged her. The kick sent him and Paul both to the ground as Butch stood up on uneven footing. Butch then pulled out his switchblade.

'You'll pay for that bitch!' Butch shouted as he charged her. Tess side stepped him and delivered a elbow hit to the back of his head, sending him to the floor. Tess then plucked his switchblade from his hand and closed it before putting it in her jumpsuit pocket.

'Hope you dumb asshole learned your lesson.' Tess said as she stepped over Butch and walked with Amata into the classroom while Paul and Wally picked up Butch from the floor.

'This isn't over bitch!' Butch growled at her as they entered the classroom. 'Well now that everyone has managed to find the classroom we can git started. Unless Mister Deloris has any more comments to share with the class?' Mister Brotch said as he began passing out test papers to everyone as they took their seats.

'No talking, and keep you eyes to yourselves.' Mister Brotch said. This caused Butch to let out a small chuckle as he wiped his cracked lip on his leather sleeve. 'Yes, I'm talking to you Butch!' Mister Brotch said as he finished passing the test sheets before standing infront of the class room, holding up a copy of the test to readmout to the class.

'Sure thing Mister Brotch'. Butch said as he picked up his pencil waiting for the first question to be read out loud by the teacher.

'Unless someone else has something to say, lets get started. Question 1...

End of the G.O.A.T test.

'Pencils down everyone. that's it, the infamous G.O.A.T! I'm sure some of you didn't find it so bad. Others well...theres always always opening s in the maintenance department. you can have the rest of the day of to celebrate, or to pray a the situation warrants.' Brotch said as he sat at his desk waiting for the students to hand in their tests.

Tess was the last student to hand in her test. After Brotch entered her test into the classes computer, a ping went off tell her permanent job. Brotch loked at the screen before turning towards Tess. He then smiled and raised his hand to her which she excepted.

'Ccongratulations! 'You've been named a Vault Tec Engineer. Looks like Stanley will finally have a bit of help from now on.'

Tess simply smiled before she gave a slight nod of her head before see turned and exited the classroom to meet up with Amata.

Amata smiled at her as she fell in step beside her. "Thank God that's over. Come on, let's get some lunch. "Hell yes" Tess replied with a smirk as they passed Butch and his friends.

I decided to rewrite and add a comment update to my chapters and change the story a bit after taking a look at them.
