Disclaimer: I don't own these characters so please don't sue me. =)
Disclaimer 2: I've been reading the Percy Jackson series recently and this little thing would not let me sleep till I wrote it. It a bit of a mix between the Movie and the Books. Also slight mention of SLASH. If that is not your cup of tea then please clicky the back button now. I really wanted Percy to have a scene where he got advice from his father and this is what came out. I apologize for any mistakes in grammar or spelling.
At some point during the quest to clear his name and stop an all-out Olympian war, Percy has an epiphany. It literally strikes him speechless and makes Annabeth and Grover worry. They were sitting in the hotel room after slaying Medusa when the epiphany hit him. "I'm going out to the pool." Percy declared after coming out of his silence. Annabeth and Grover glanced at each other before nodding. Percy changed before heading out. His clothes may not get wet in the water but if any other guest saw him it would be awkward. The water helps him think and creates a pseudo bond with his Father.
Percy climbed into the pool and let himself sink to the bottom. He concentrated and mentally reached out to His father. Dad? He nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard a reply Yes, my child?
I need advice…on a personal matter. Percy stated nervously. He wasn't sure if this was a good idea but the only person he could think of that would understand was Poseidon and his mother.
What's wrong? You seem severely distressed. Poseidon's concern seeped through the bond.
I…uh…it was ridiculously hard to talk about this… I kinda had an epiphany earlier and it confused me. I need some help trying to work it all out. He felt Poseidon nod and continued. I realized that I have a… I suppose you could say a crush… on someone. Percy paused knowing that this was the part making him anxious. A guy…at camp.
Poseidon paused to consider his son's problem. Perseus, are you concerned because you have developed these feelings for another male or because it someone at camp. Poseidon waited patiently for the boy to think about a reply. It was a slow day on Olympus considering they were facing all out civil war.
I think a bit of both…you don't disapprove, do you?
Poseidon almost laughed at his son. My dear child, we Gods have had lovers of both sexes for thousands of years. It would be absurd for me to disapprove. He felt the boy sigh across their bond.
I don't know what to do, I mean his dad is Hermes, patron god of thieves and liars, then Annabeth is kinda in love with him too and I don't want to hurt her. And I really confused with the whole attracted to a guy thing since that's never happened before. And it's just so much and the demi-god thing and a quest. Percy realized he was rambling and stopped with an additional Sorry, rambling
It's all right. There's a lot on your mind. My advice is to focus on the things you can control. Accept the fact that you have feelings for this young man. Focus on your quest. The other things will work themselves out. I feel I must tell you that if he truly cares for you too then it won't matter who his father is. Poseidon offered.
Thanks Dad. I gotta go, Annabeth just came out here. And with that Percy surfaced breaking the bond.
Poseidon sent a silent pray to his fellow gods that things would work out for his son.
