The Thunderstorm of God
Verse 1:
Sit inside and watch the forecast
everyone says there's a mighty tempest
blowing toward my peaceful home
about to turn things upside-down
I will stay here, safe and dry
while big black clouds fill up the sky
tucked away and never viewing
how much cold and hurt it brewing

is God crying with the lost
and every wind gust that blows
is God's pain for the wounded souls
in the thunderstorm of God

Hear the trees crack in the wind
I am numb; my heart is hardened
I see the raindrops land outside
and feel a spark of warmth inside

people caught out in the weather
children of God caught outdoors
stuck in the fear and loss of the storm

pictures of their mourning faces
How can I stay here, dry and warm,
when all of them are caught in the storm?

save us all from this hurricane
that swirls with lust for hurt and shame
