I'll Always Be There For You

The child lies on the ground, crying in the dark, blood pouring out of her.

She is slowly dying, and she wonders why they killed her.

Why they spilled her blood with so little feeling.

So small, weak and cold she lies there,

She prays there.

In the blood stained dark,

She watches her world fall apart, shattering before her eyes,

And after that nothing seems to mater in this cold, heartless world.

Until he comes.

I smile up at him,

Love shining clearly in my eyes,

I would die for him,

I would cry for him,

I would laugh for him,

I would share the pain he hides,

I would follow him to the ends of the earth,

I don't know if he cares for me like a father to his daughter,

But he is always there for me,

Always there to catch me when I fall,

Always there to help me up,

Always there with me when the nightmares come,

He sometimes walks away and leaves me,

But I will wait for him,

And then he is standing there,

Calling my name,

And I would laugh, smile and go to him,

And we would continue,

I run on ahead,

And I would look back,

And smile at the one that would always be there,

The one that watches over me.

She came to me,

Eyes full of curiosity and wonder,

She tried to take care of me,

Coming back and forth to me,

Even when I told her to leave me be,

She came,

Bruised and hurt,

She came,

I held her when she slept,

Watching her till she awoke,

I walked away from her when she left,

Trying to forget the child,

I do not care or love anyone,

I repeat over and over again in my mind,

But then I find her,

Dead on the path,

Her eyes empty,

Her body was still and cold,

All warmth had left her,

I took out my sword and,

I saw them,

The ones that were going to take her from me,

They were surrounding her,

So I destroyed them,

Bringing her back to life,

I saw her eyes open,

Warmth and color coming back to her once cold body,

I walked away,

And there she was,

Following me,

Smiling up at me,

And that is where she will always be,

I will protect her,

And care for her,

I won't let her falter,

She is the only light that shines in my dark world,

I will always protect you,
