This is mostly Yuto's thoughts but the pairing is implied.

Perfect

He stood on a rooftop, overseeing the sounds and colours of the bustling city around him.

As Yuto jumped down and began to walk to LDS, he had a feeling that something bad might happen tonight. But it didn't matter. He had to know. If that candy-loving Academia soldier knew where Ruri was and if he does, he and Shun could go and attempt to rescue her from their clutches.

It sounded foolish even in his head as he walked into the dark building, somehow unnoticed by the guards who were sipping on what looked like coffee near the reception area (that could be a factor) so he snuck inside the hallway leading towards the wings where injuried people were stationed. Finding the right door wasn't an issue as the occupant inside was up and about, cursing at Shun for making him lose so pathetically. Yuto had to smile slightly as he reached out for the door's handle, intent on walking inside. Shun had shown the little spy what it felt like to be hunted, to be hurt ... to be devastated. And he knew that the elder didn't think that was enough and wondered why he didn't act upon those desires of his (as he usually would) and wondered if it had anything to do the Professor's son... shaking his head, the XYZ duelist slowly began to open the door.

His hand shaking as he did so went by unnoticed.

"Please, make everyone smile with your dueling."

Yuto had to chuckle feebly as he lay dying in Yuya's arms, his counterpart clearly worried and asking him to not go. But he knew that was such a pointless thing to ask for. He was useless and couldn't save Ruri from the claws of the magician she had met right before their world came crushing down. But they were friends first and foremost and, no amount of jealousy over her affection for the would-be traitor could deminsh that, would destroy that. Even if he couldn't have her love, he would protect her in any way, shape or form he could. They were the perfect circle, the two of them. One brooding and cynical, the other kind and friendly. And while he couldn't see her face for what was possibly the last time he had a physical body, he felt closure.

His smile grew as he vanished in millions of diamond-like particles.

This is dedicted to XBrain130, who I hope loves this couple as much as I do :)
