A/N: For the Father/Daughter challenge (HPFFC).
"Dad, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend, Jake Weasley." Those were the last words Edgar Morrison wanted to hear from his nearly fifteen-year-old daughter, Octavia. That being her first sentence after she got off the school train didn't help.
"What?" Edgar gasped. Bad enough that Octavia was practically an honorary member of the Weasley clan – now she was dating one of them.
"Calm down, Edgar." Luna, his wife, was by his side in an instant after helping their older son, Lysander, catch his escapist pet cat. "I've known the family for ages; Octavia'll be fine. Jake's George's kid, isn't he?"
Octavia, too stunned to speak, nodded her head yes.
"You must be Octavia's parents." While Luna had been intervening, Jake had turned up and decided to be friendly. "And yeah, I'm George's kid, but I've been told I'm nothing like him."
So far as Edgar was concerned, nothing like George Weasley could mean anything. Though he was usually a calm, reasonable person, he was getting angrier by the second. "What do you see in him?" he asked Octavia, hoping the answer was nothing whatsoever. Like her mother, Octavia was a lot easier to reason with when she knew she was wrong.
"I'll date who I want to date, if you don't mind," Octavia snapped.
"What exactly did we do to deserve this?" Edgar asked worriedly.
"I didn't date anyone till I was nineteen," Luna replied. "She's not a miniature me anymore."
