Burning

This was it. The final battle. This simple battle would change the fate of alagasea. Galbatorix and Arya were dancing with their swords. They were almost equally matched, but Arya was starting to tire. Galbatorix was slowly starting to batter her down. With Oromis and Gleadr dead Eragon and Saphira were the last Dragon and Rider except for Galbatorix and Shruikan. Islanzadi had been killed a week earlier by Thorn and Murtagh. Not but a few moments later was Murtagh shot off of Thorn and killed by a single arrow welded from the same material that the Dragon Riders swords had been made of, brightsteel, shot by its forger. Rhunon. It was a part of the brightsteel that was used to forge Eragons sword, Brsingr. Much in the same matter that Eragons sword was made Rhunon forged it through another elf. Also, it was made with the same enchantments of the Riders Swords so it could pierce through any armor. Rhunon had also put a single extra spell on it and that is what made it work. She knew that Galbatorix would be expecting something of her make to try and pierce Murtagh or Thorn. And having a Riders Sword himself he examined it and set wards according to the exact spells on it. Thus by altering it in the tiniest way Rhunon had been able to get around these wards and thus tip the fate of Alagasea. As Murtagh died Thorn nearly went mad, yet being under Galbatorixs spell kept him from doing so. No matter how hard Thorn fought to break free from Galbatorixs spell, without Murtagh, it was hopeless. As Arya fiercely fought with the king himself, Eragon and Saphira were in a dogfight with Thorn. Despite nearly going insane, Thorn was a fierce fighter. Yet it was only a matter of time before Eragon and Saphira struck him down. Using the same tactics as in the Battle of The Burning Plains, but this time alerting Saphira, they flew swiftly above Thorn and Eragon leaped off of Saphiras back, drew Brsingr, and slashed at Thorns wing as he fell. Without Murtagh here to heal him, and Galbatorix busy with Arya, Thorn started plummeting down and crashed straight into Galbatorixs castle. His body lay restless in the debris and rubble. At least he did not have to suffer, Eragon told Saphira through their mental connection. Tired, yet full of determination, they turned to find Arya and Galbatorix. But as Thorn fell he let out a ferocious roar that only a dragon could muster. This distracted Arya for just enough time for Galbatorix to disarm her. She was defeated. He plunged his sword through her stomach. She was not dead yet, but was soon to be. Not a moment after Galbatorix fatally wounded Arya, Eragon leaped off of Saphira and stabbed Galbatorix through his wicked, black, sorry excuse for a heart. Leaving Galbatorix to die his fate, Eragon rushed over to the dying body of Arya. "E…E .. Eragon .I…I have some…thing to tell you. I…I… love…y ..y..". Eragon screamed out with pain. "I love you too Arya, I love you too." And for the rest of the night he sat there cradling her corpse.
