Near Water.

Challenge fic. Color in a black-white World's "Coloured Roses Challenge"

Pairing: Harry/Pansy.
Colour: Black.
Point of view: Third.

Harry was standing by the lake, his back to the castle. The wind was whipping his robe around his knees. His cheeks were tinged pink from the cold. He was shivering. In his hand was a flower. A pink, perfect, perky, flower. As silly and stupid as it sounds, Harry was waiting for his 'Mermaid Girl'. Yes, kids, Harry Potter was in love with someone who he thought was a mermaid. Of course she wasn't, she just swam every day at 4:07 PM. Harry met up with her at 4:09 PM, every day. Her name was Selina.

Selina had long blonde hair, bright green eyes, and had a little bit of a pug nose. Sound familiar? She came out of the water and smiled. Good, he was there again. He offered her the flower. She smiled at it and took it under water. She pretended to bring it to her home. She pinned it under a rock. Smiling under the water, she let the flower drown. She swam up for air.

"Selina ..." Harry breathed. Selina smiled and swam to the shore, keeping her waist under the water. Harry crouched down, not getting anything wet. Selina smiled.

"Hello, Harry." She said smoothly. Harry grinned at her. He reached out and took her hand. She smiled.

"How are you?" Harry asked, smiling at her.

"Fine. I'm fine. And yourself, Harry? You're not getting sick spending all this time by the water, are you?" Selina looked upset. Harry smiled and shook his head.

"I'm great." Harry inched closer to the water. Selina grinned and tugged his hand. Harry stumbled and fell into the water.

"You know, Harry. You've been fooled. I'm not Selina. I'm Pansy." She growled, flashing her teeth scarily.

"What? You're not?" Harry felt like an idiot. Pansy pulled him closer and kissed his lips.

"Goodbye, Harry Potter." Pansy ran a hand through his hair, dunking him under water.

Harry felt like he was going to explode. He tried to get up, but Pansy's hold was too strong. He felt himself going numb. He couldn't feel the pain anymore. He couldn't hold his breath any longer. He started to get dizzy.

Pansy laughed as she felt Harry go limp. She kicked his body away, and watched as it floated away. She waded out of the water.

A group of black roses floated after Harry Potter's dead figure.
