Auhtors Note: Couldn't resist writing this, it drew me in. This isn't my best work at all. But I wanted to post it. I hope you enjoy anyway. =]
"Love is a vampire's greatest weakness and we are not week." he told his brother who was looking down at the floor, "We do not feel and we do not care."
His brother raised his head to look at him sadness in his eyes, "We did once."
Those words triggered something and memories started to flood back, memoies of the only woman he ever truely loved and the only woman we ever would love. Charlotte Pertova.
The first time he had met her, he had been only the mere age of thirteen years old. His father if that was what he was meant to call him had taken all of his other siblings off on a walk leaving him behind. He knew now why he hated him and never got along with him but at the time he was completly clueless and it hurt him everytime his father would just ignore him like he didn't even exsist.
He was sitting underneath the old white oak tree knees pulled up against his chest, picking at the plants that surrounded him. He didn't even realize she had came and sat next to him. She coughed drawing his attention to her and making him turn around to face her.
"Did your father ditch you?" she asked a look of sympathy in her eyes.
"I guess you could call it that." He replied as he ripped one of the plants up from it's root.
"Why does he do it?" she asked again.
He shurgged, "I have no idea."
"Well." she said clapping her hands, "Everytime he ditches you I shall be here and we'll have a better time than him and your siblings." she said grinning as she rushed off expecting him to chase her.
And he did, he chased for the whole day until the sun came down and his father came home and then he stopped. His father would have yelled at him if he knew he was paying such a stupid thing as chase.
From then everytime his father went off with his brothers and sisters, they would always meet up. Somedays they would play chase but other days they relaxed more and just sat by the oak tree and talk. He had fallen for her, he really had.
Time passed and he then he was turned into a vampire, and that's when she turned her back on him. He didn't stop her either, it was her decision and he respected that even though it broke his heart to see her walk away from him.
Eventually he made his first human kill triggering his werewolf gene, and that was when his mother done something he will never forgive her for and it wasn't the fact that she had put the curse on him. It was the fact he sacraficed his true love to bind the curse. He spent hours under the cave where they hid from the werewolves at night, her lifeless body in his arms cyring. It had been the worst night of his life.
Klaus looked at his brother and sighed, "Too many lifetimes ago to matter."
