Jess placed the phone back in its cradle. He felt like he was hit with a brick in the forehead. The news his uncle gave him was devastating. He was shaken to his core .How could he have been so wrong. What his uncle told him was the latest of horrible blows that had befallen him.

He knew her. He was perfect for her. She belonged to him. They were made for each other. All their compatibility with books and music; it was all crap. He realized that he never had a clue about her.

He told her face to face that he loved her, He expected her to fall into his arms, but she just stared at him. Maybe she was just overcome by emotion and did not know how to act and was shocked. That was the only answer he told himself. She was his soul mate.

A few weeks later he went to Yale to get her to go away with him. He would tell her that he was committed to her. She would leave with him. Rory would be overjoyed that he; Jess had finally matured and was ready to take responsibility. There was no doubt in his mind that she would fall in his arms and they would leave together. After all he knew her better than anyone.

Jess thought back to the night he arrived at the Yale campus and went to her room. Dean the moron was talking to Rory. As soon as Rory overcame her surprise at seeing Jess she sent Dean away. Dean left without an argument. When he left Dean looked at him and gave him a little smile.

He asked Rory to go off with him. To his shocked ears all he heard was no. But he just knew she wanted to go off with him. Why was she saying no; after all he knew her better than anyone. Finally he told her say no because you mean it. There was no way she would say no now. After all he knew her better than anyone. When he heard the loud "NO" His world crumbled; he turned on his hell and walked out of her room.

Where did it all go wrong he asked himself? Was it at that party when he tried to have sex with Rory? They discussed having sex. He knew her it was the right time. Spontaneous no more talking about it, just do it. When she rejected him he flipped. Then to end the evening Dean kicked his ass.

How could things go so horribly wrong they were soul mates; he knew her better than anybody?

His uncle had told him that Rory slept with Dean. Jess figured it was right after he begged her to go away with him. They played him for a fool. He hated her now. It was Dean all along. He wondered if they were laughing at him. That moron Dean got what he wanted. Rory was his; he was supposed to be the first. She was back with Dean now.

Jess just didn't understand it. After all he knew her better than anyone. What went wrong?
