Hopeless, a single word that you would not expect from me And before you ask, no I don't own Glee.
AN: This is a really short one-shot of what could have gone down after Quinn accepts the haircut proposal. I mean, it's so short it could be called a drabble. Either way, your thoughts on it are appreciated. So please review if you can :) Title of the story comes from a song by Acceptance called Over You. I'd like to think it fits the story.
"Ready?" Brittany asks sweetly.
"Let's do this." Quinn answers with confidence she doesn't have. She knows they can tell and she's grateful they don't call her out on it. Santana moves a chair in front of her and reaches out. They hold hands. It's a foreign feeling. One she hasn't felt since their freshman year, when the words best friends actually meant something. Before all this backstabbing and drama went down. She's now in a room with two people she actually cares about. Two people who love each other, but are just too stupid to realize what they have. She's jealous and she knows it. Quinn craves the connection that she knows these two share. She thinks, for the first time in a long time, that maybe she might find it someday. Hope. It's been a while since she had any. She hopes for a better future. It's the first time in her life that she's not that afraid of it, afraid of what lies ahead of her.
"You're a lot more than that." It's the first time in her life she actually believes it.
And as each hair hits the ground it was as if every regret she ever had was being cut away. Every mistake, every horrible thing she ever said, none of it mattered anymore. She cries. Santana holds her hand through it all and when Brittany is done with the scissors she just smiles at her.
"You look very pretty Quinn." she says.
"Yeah Q, definitely." Santana added with a wink.
Quinn goes to look at herself in the bathroom mirror and actually likes what she sees. She thinks that might be progress. She says thank you and suddenly she's in the middle of a group hug. Things aren't perfect, but they don't need to be. They just need to be right. And Quinn Fabray is going to make damn sure things finally turn out right.
