AUTHOR'S NOTES: This story is about Daniel's first encounter with Olivia, told from his point of view, & based on a chapter from my story "The Baker Street Family Chronicles".

In the darkness of the sewer lair, I was a loner. I had no friends or allies. I had no one to talk to, & I always stayed in my own little bubble, never allowing anyone to burst into my personal space, not even the Goodie Gang.
That changed when Olivia Flaversham came.
She was one of the members of that family Mouses Fiennes hated so much (the Baker Street Family, I believe it was called). She was one of the members he hated the most, in fact. Mouses told me that she & her family was the enemy.
But when I saw her sweet face & heard her little voice, I knew that it was another of Mouses' lies.
Soon, I began to open up a bit. Her tears became my tears, her worries & troubles became my own.
And whenever I saw her crying & begging to go back home, I knew I had to disobey Mouses & take her back to the forbidden land known as Baker Street.
It took a bit of trickery to get Olivia out, but I knew I could do it. Bill had taught me the art & craft of faking things quite well!
After Olivia had been finally reunited with her family, she had asked me to stay with her. I refused & went back to the sewer lair, where Mouses gave me a lashing.
Looking back, I am quite surprised—& disappointed—that I did not say "yes". Staying with the Baker Street Family would have spared me all the torture Mouses made me go through each & every day.
But that night, after I had been sent to bed, I decided that perhaps someday I would join her. Just not now.
But whatever happened to me, I would always remember Olivia, & how she became a friend to me in my darkest days.
