Prompt: Paige gets angry with Emily because she always cares about everyone else and gets herself hurt. Emily reassures her that she's fine.
"What the fuck did you do?!" Paige shrieked as she rushed into room that her girlfriend was occupying.
Snapping her head up, Emily found herself face-to-face with the angry brunette. "Okay, babe, relax."
"You did not just tell me to relax! Look at your wrist." Paige stated, directing her focus to her girlfriend's left wrist. "Don't tell me. One of your friends was about to get run over again, so you had to shove them out of the way, snapping your wrist in the process."
"… I was helping Spencer…"
"Of course you were," Paige whispered, starting to pace around the hospital room.
"Paige can you please come and sit down?" Emily pleaded. She had known that her girlfriend wasn't going to react well once she heard that she'd been hurt, but she still couldn't help the tears that began to fill her eyes. The tears that came to her eyes at the sound of disappointment and pain that filled Paige's voice.
Continuing her walking as if she hadn't heard Emily, Paige spoke, "Why can't you just not do that kind of stuff? How hard can it be?"
Emily could hear Paige's voice starting to crack; she could tell that she too was on the verge of tears.
"Paige," she whispered.
Coming to a stop, Paige took a deep breath before stepping over to the bed and sitting down next to Emily. She found herself not able to take her eyes off of the broken wrist that lay in front of her.
With her good hand, Emily reached for Paige, needing to feel her close.
"Emily…"
"I-I'm sorry Paige," Emily whispered, interrupting. When she felt Paige pull her hand away, she let her tears fall free. "Paige."
Seeing Emily crying always broke Paige's heart, and she couldn't help the tears that began to run down her cheeks.
"E-Em, I just c-can't stand seeing you hurt." Paige sobbed, lightly running a hand along the brunette's hand. "W-What if something worse had happened and you w-weren't here right now?"
"But I am here," Emily stated, pulling the sobbing girl into her chest.
"That's not the point Em," Paige replied, calming down slightly as she breathed in her familiar scent.
"I know…" Emily whispered, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "I know."
Pulling back so she could look the brunette in the eyes, Paige responded, "C-Can you please just promise me you t-that you won't get hurt anymore?"
Sighing, Emily wiped the tears from her face before wiping Paige's.
"I-I can't. Paige, you know that."
"Em…"
"I'm fine, okay? I can promise that I'll try harder to stay safe. But babe, I can't promise that, you know that."
"I know," Paige answered, pulling Emily down to lay next to her, being careful not to hurt her wrist in the process. "I know."
"And since I'm okay right now, you can stop worrying about me for now. Deal?" Emily asked.
"I guess," Paige sighed before leaning down to capture her lips for a kiss.
