"And what bugs me is that they don't even ask me what I want!"
Ronin walked back and forth. The grass had died where his tracks were.
"Maybe they only want whats best for you?"
"Well, maybe the best thing for me is being here... with you?"
Lei looked up at him as she dipped her toes into the water of the Nin Shan River.
Ronin and Lei have been sneaking around to see each other since they ran into
each other in Ba Sing Se. Lei was taking a field trip with her school, Ping Xue's school
for Girls and Ronin was doing a job with his father! Both of them weren't looking
were they were going and they collided. Love at first sight. Ever since that day Lei has told her father that she has been hanging out with the other girls from school and Ronin told his family that he is training with other soldier trainees. If their parents ever found out that they've been seeing each other... There's no telling what they might do! Lei is from the Earth Kingdom and Ronin is part of the Fire Nation. It has always been told that you don't fall in love with the different nations. But they have chosen to do otherwise.
"Well, there's nothing they can do as long as they don't know!"
Lei got up and walked over to a fallen log and got up on top of it, changing the subject
"Wouldn't it be great to fly? Just like the Air benders?"
She spread her arms out like a bird in flight and hastily glided across the log. Not paying attention to where she was going, Lei stepped off the end of the log.
Giving a soft screech she fell into the arms of Ronin, who ran at the sight of his girl falling.
Lei wrapped her arm around Ronin's strong neck.
"It's OK. Shh. I gotcha." Ronin comforted as he sat her down on the log.
Lei gave a little chuckle. "I guess I need to pay attention to where I'm going."
Ronin planted a kiss on her forehead. "Anytime you fall, I'll be here."
