"Alice," he murmured as he woke. The last thing Cyrus remembered was her face, distorted from grief, as he fell away from her to his death. Then the evil smile of Jafar, "Alice."

He jerked awake as he came to realization. He hadn't died. But if he hadn't then where was he...

"Welcome back to the living," greeted a voice from somewhere below. Cyrus sat up and took in his surroundings. He was in a cage dangling above a chasm in a dungeon with Jafar standing on a ledge.

"You!" Cyrus accused, springing up and grabbing at the bars of his cage. He immediately withdrew with a hiss, his hands scalded.

"Do you like it? I made it especially for you. It's made of silver as you can feel," informed Jafar gesturing at his prison. Cyrus's jaw clenched. Silver was bad news for a genie. It meant no escape.

"What have you done to Alice? Where is she?!" he yelled. He couldn't bear the thought of her alone, surrounded by the red queen's guards, believing him to be dead. But that would've been days ago. Who knew where she could be now. Or what she must be going through. How he hated the thought.

"Oh she's perfectly fine. If you discount the broken heart. She seems to have escaped back to her world but don't despair, Cyrus. We will find her soon enough. And when we do we will break her like a disobeying stallion. She will make her wishes," he paused relishing the pained look on his face, "And then I'll slit her throat in front of you so you can see the life drain from her eyes." He laughed walking away from the edge of the chasm, his dark robes swishing behind him.

Despair set into Cyrus's heart as he sunk to floor of his cage. He couldn't let this happen to her. He couldn't. But he had not given up on her yet. He never would, "You are wrong!" he yelled.

"What did you say?" Jafar asked as he turned around.

"I said you were wrong," cyrus defied standing once more, "Alice will never come back here in a million years and if she did," he said, "she is too clever for you to catch her."

"We shall see," Jaffar replied, fire burning in his eyes, "We shall see."

Cyrus watched him leave as his heart panged in his chest. He sighed staring up at the top of his cage.

"Alice, be the woman I know you are. Stay strong, Alice."
