Hello. The time has come for us to be serious for a moment. This is my idea of another possible approach to the events at the bridge in the Land of Iron. (I know this is long over and done with, but I wrote this a while ago, too.)
I do not own Naruto
Traveling in the Land of Iron, a young kunoichi comes across a bridge. With just a quick glance, one can tell that an intense battle had taken place. With more focus, two figures were noticeable on the other side of the bridge. One was on the ground, while the other loomed over her, Chidori at the ready. The kunoichi screamed for him to stop. He turns to her, eyes cold and dead. "Sakura."
"I'm not here to fight you. I'm here to warn you. Back in the village, you've been declared a criminal. Now shinobi squads will come after you, including those who were once close to you. "
"So before you decide to take the life of that girl at your feet, think about this. You used to be honorable. You're an Uchiha, for crying out loud! You were respected for your skills and seen as a hero!
"You wanted to avenge your clan. At first, it sounded heroic. But then you crossed the line, leaving a path of destruction and betrayal behind you. You got the revenge you wanted, didn't you? Itachi is dead. Did you feel relieved? Happy?"
"Look at yourself. You wanted to restore the clan. Well, what would they say if they saw what you're doing? Instead of honoring them, you and Madara bring shame to the Uchiha name! All you're doing is killing for selfish reasons! Would your family be proud of you right now? I doubt it."
"I hope you enjoy your new life: the life of a criminal. I won't go after you, Sasuke. But know this. If you ever threaten the lives of the people I care about, I promise you… I WON'T HOLD BACK!"
She strikes a nearby tower with a single fist. Rubble flies everywhere, but her eyes stay hard and determined.
The S-ranked criminal stares back at her. It's impossible to read him. Who knows what he's thinking. For all she knows, his sanity is long gone. She senses her team approaching. Now all she can do is wait… and pray that her words sank in. Finally, she had let out the pain of all those years. She let it all out.
So...much...seriousness! Agh! Guess I'm a bit dramatic, but I think Sasuke seriously needed a wake up call at that point already. Who better to give it than Sakura? She helped snap him out of it against Orochimaru, right?
Poll on my page for what I should work on next! Opinions are appreciated! :D
