This is my fiirst fic ever! Hope you enjoy. I don't own Harry Potter or any other characters. I only came up with the plot.
"Malfoy," she called.
I turned and to my surprise saw Hermione Granger standing warily behind me. After a second, I put on my famous smirk and addressed her.
"Granger," I mocked.
She ignored my insult and said three words that I always dreamed she'd say, but dreaded her actually saying them.
"I love you," she whispered barely audibly.
She might have said it louder but I could barely hear her over the sound of my erratically beating heart.
I wanted to hold her and tell her I loved her too. That we would live happily ever after, but I knew that could never happen. I had to protect her from my father and the horrid person he is. I had to protect her from me and what I was going to become.
So I did what I've been doing for my entire life; I lied.
"Ha," I scoffed. "The smartest witch in Hogwarts has finally fallen for my charms. Sorry Granger but you're not my type."
When she looked up at me, my whole chest ached. She had tears silently streaming down her face but she looked my straight in the eyes. Never afraid or intimidated by me. I knew that if I didn't leave that minute I would have held her in my arms and never let her go.
I could never see her again. To have to see her would be torture. It would be a constant reminder that I could never feel love or happiness because of who I am meant to be.
I uttered the last word knowing this was my last chance at happiness.
"Mudblood," I mumbled.
It lacked the venom I normally said it with but I could still hear her gasp. With my last glimpse at her I saw her trying to hold back her sobs. I turned my back to her and let my tears fall freely down my face. As I walked away, I felt my heart turn back into the cold stone it was meant to be.
Hey everyone. This is my first fic ever! I'm trying something new by actually writing a story usually I read them. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it. Comments and suggestions are appreciated. Please click the review button!
