A/N: Just a little oneshot I'm making off the top of my head.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, only the poem.

Farid came inside the small house where Meggie and her parents lived.

He planned to surprise Meggie with a rose he had found. He was going to give it to her as a thank you gift for being so patient while teaching him to read and write.

No one seemed to be home. Well, Meggie's father was gone for the day he had forgotten why. Her mother was probably shopping or whatever women do, so Meggie was likely to be with her.

He went to her room just incase to see if she was there.

Meggie actually wasn't, but there was a piece of paper on her desk.

He was too curious to not at least sneak a peek at it.

Farid felt proud of himself, as the small black markings became words.

It read:

Black hair of ebony

A contrast to the fire glow

The man I've always loved

But to shy to show

He comes from a land of deserts and dunes The black star bright nights darkened his skin He calls fire his companion

And when I look in his eyes I see a fire within

Farid then heard footsteps as he read the last line. He turned around to see Meggie standing in the doorway.

"Hi Farid! How are you…" Then she saw what he was reading and blushed a shade brighter than the rose he was holding.

Farid smiled, placed the poem on her desk. He walked up to her kissing her on the cheek putting the rose in her hand and whispered "thank you." To her before he walked out of her house.

A/N: It actually turned out pretty good for something I made up as I went along. Please review!
