Mastercize It
Elliott Stabler came to work in a good mood. He kept smiling and smiling and smiling. It was nice to see but hard to take because no one could get out of him what had him in such a good mood. Not Olivia, not all Fin and Munchs teasing, not even Lake wearing a white T-Shirt broke his grins.
He got a call at 10:00 from Kathy. "Hi, honey. Really? I'll have to go home and look for it. Yes, it's clean. I'll go at lunch. Okay, love you too, bye." He laughed as soon as he got off the phone.
Olivia was walking around behind his desk, dropped her file on his desk and put him into a mock headlock. "Tell me what's going on right now, Stabler, or so help me….." she warned grinning.
Rather than taking it seriously Elliott laughed and easily released himself from the hold. "You'll see soon enough." He promised.
He continued in his good mood all afternoon. Through Caseys visit, the captains lecture on hoarding supplies, the Chief of D's press conference about the string of rapes occurring all over the city and asking for help from citizens. Nothing fazed him.
At 2:45 they found out why. The form of a young woman they all thought they knew stalked into the squad room and stood, arms akimbo and glared at Elliott. "How could you?!" she demanded in a high pitched shrewish voice.
"Is something the matter, honey?" Elliott asked in an innocent voice.
After the initial shock wore off, there was so much laughter it was hard to hear over.
Elizabeth was purple from head to toe. Her hair, her skin, her clothes, her socks except for her shoes. And her face which was beat red under the purple dye. "Look at me, I looking like a fing grape. And the Sisters just laughed at me and made me participate in PE anyway. How could you do this to me?!"
Elliott leaned forward in his chair and looked her straight in the eye. "Remember the Cherry Kool Aid? Grape works just as well."
"That was months ago." Elizabeth screeched.
"Don't mess with the master, Lizzie." Elliott said with a satisfied grin and leaned back in his chair.
"Oh!!!" Elizabeth turned on her heel and marched back out still steaming.
"Elliott, that may not have been the best thing you could have done. Girls are very conscious of how they look…." Olivia said trying to wipe the tears of laughter from her eyes.
"It's worse than you think." Elliott said solemnly.
"Why?"
"Kathy had a purple thing going when Elizabeth and Dickie were born and she kept dressing Elizabeth in purple. She hates that color." He told her tongue in cheek.
Cragen came back into the squad room. "Elliott, was that your gra….uh, daughter that just stormed out of here?"
"Yes, captain, it was." Elliott admitted meekly.
"I think you better sleep lightly for awhile." Cragen grinned, clapped Elliott on his shoulder and went back to work.
