Name: Ted
After we cleared the hospital we decided to take a break and of coarse we had a little fun. Swag is going to get really hurt one of these days and then we… I shook my head not even bothering to think about it. We were all laughing and each grabbed a cigar and smiled. Swag and rock put on their glasses to keep the smoke out of their eyes.
But when we walked outside it wasn't dark or Smokey it was just a greyish blue sky. We looked up confused. Swag was the first to speak up
"What the fuck happened?"
None of us had anything to say. What could we say? I looked around at everyone throwing them a confused glance. They knew what I was asking but no one said anything. Not yet anything. We shrugged it off and were still doing our routine as if it meant nothing. We headed back and made it before it hit nightfall. Swag was of coarse being his usual self while I think some of us were more concerned about why the sky was like that. Finally One said he was going to take the shift tonight. We all agreed and headed into our bed and lay our heads down.
But I couldn't sleep
I sighed and rolled out and went out quietly and snuck behind the tent. But I was surprised to see myself greeted by 72. As usual he had his big cigar. He patted the spot next to him and I sighed bringing my knees to my chest
"Hey…do you think?"
he took a long drag and shrugged
"I don't know Ted..it could.. But don't get your hopes up. Although…"
"yes?"
he paused clearly choosing his words
"I. Have noticed a giant decrease in how many infected we see… Ted you should sleep!"
I started to protest but then he interrupted me with a cough and I sighed frustrated and slumped back to my sleeping bag.
Name: 72
When I knew ted had gone to sleep I quickly stood up and went to Swag. He looked at me and then back in the direction of where Ted would be. I said in a hushed whisper
"What do you think?"
"Beats me.."
He shrugged and sighed. There was no sarcasm or anything in this. He was being completely serious. The so-called "swag" in my mind is just a way for him to cover up his real feelings. He still moved in the way that was similar to us all. Then he looked up at the sky and paused
"I'm done with this shit…"
Frankly I had to agree but I couldn't get my hopes up just in case this was a misunderstanding. Tonight was quieter than normal. I waved swag off and went to bed. The events have left me finished. I didn't bother to get under the blanket and just fell asleep instantly.

I growled and opened my eyes getting up at my regular time and waking up the other shit faces. I know they all thought this was ending but I honesty didn't give a shit. When I went outside I had to squint. The sky was clearing up. It still was smoked and gross as shit but. It was brighter. Everyone was awake.. am I the only one who did sleep? I scoffed and dicided to speak up
"Guys! Who the fuck cares? It means nothing!"
rock didn't say anything. He pointed and I turned and looked expecting to see zombies crawling around
nothing.
They were already dead. Clearly we had not killed them. I looked all around but saw we were the only living and breathing things. I stopped and looked at them
"now what?"
