The research had been a success. Sort of. They had managed to make the door appeared but there had been a cost. Ienzo was unsure if the cost had been worth it. The gleam in Xehanort's eyes told him he was alone in this thought. He is still experiencing his adrenaline rush. He is completely captivated about his research being a success that he is dimmed to all his surroundings. Then again hadn't he Ienzo been blind to his surroundings as well? Not only moments earlier had the lab been full of noise and yet now it was so quiet. Had it always been this quiet? No. Ienzo had been so sure it had been noisy but when did all the noise stop? Minutes? Hours? Days? He couldn't recall correctly. His memories seemed all mixed up; broken to pieces and then the fragments of his memories blended together in a forceful matter. Ienzo head was pounding.
"Ienzo!"
The voice was just above a whisper as if any louder would break the magic. Ienzo looked up into Xehanort's eyes. His eyes were practically sparkling with delight at the situation and why wouldn't he be excited? He had worked so long on this. To find this door however it was much more than a door, of course. What was beyond the door was what really mattered.
Xehanort gripped his hand. A little too hard Ienzo winced slightly at the pain. Xehanort had always been very gently with him, he was probably just excited about everything. It was the only explanation.
"Xe-"
"Let's open the door."
Ienzo smiled and nodded. He couldn't fight the sense of dread that washed all over him, though.
