Sam enters the study, gun drawn.
A man sprawls in the center of the room, his back to the door, body lit by the flickering candles that surrounded him in a wide circle. The air is heavy with the stench of beeswax and blood.
"Hey", Sam whispers, even as the oppressive silence leaves him with a cold feeling in his belly. "Mister, it's going to be okay, we're going to get you out of here…"
He reaches out, grasps the man's shoulder, quickly tugs…
There is a wet, tearing sound, and Sam can see that things are far from okay.
