Hisagi, Tousen – Blind Leading the Blind
Rating: T
Drip.
My blood drips unto the ground, the wound starts from my forehead. I'm already unsteady on my feet, now my vision is obscured by blood.
I am, at this moment, blind.
I curse and swear profanities. The sounds of a hollow's scream reaching my ears. I spin about, focusing aimlessly on its cry. Coming from somewhere, nowhere, anywhere – trouble. I'm in trouble. I don't bode well practically blind and what I hope is my blood starts to crust over my eyes.
Someone grabs my wrist in a grip that's slack and tight all at the same time and for a brief moment, my heart stops.
"Hisagi," I hear my captain's voice from the dark.
Relief surges through me. "Captain." It's Captain Tousen.
"Come. I will lead." I nod dumbly at his words, wonder if he can see, then grimace at my habit for inappropriately tasteless puns.
I move towards the direction in which his voice originates; I note that he is purposely making his footsteps detectable. My Captain is leading me to safety, the blind leading the blind. I could, and would, almost laugh at the sheer irony of it all if I wasn't in such a dire state.
My blood continues to drip as my savior cuts through the hollows that get in our way.
All I hear are the shrill screams left in our wake.
