Teddy sighed as he got everything ready. He put out a tray with a canister of hot water. He had different type of tea, knowing Victoire liked variety in all things. This way, she'd have her pick, but he made sure to include her favorite: cinnamon.
He was nervous as this might be his only chance to convince Victoire to go out on a date with him. Although they've known each other since they were in diapers, he wanted to make a good impression and prove to Victoire that they belonged with each other.
When Victoire showed up, Teddy helped her to a chair after taking off her coat. She smiled prettily and his heart fluttered. Her blonde curls framed her face and Teddy was drawn to her bright blue eyes which shined with happiness.
Teddy showed her the selection of tea she could to choose from, and like he expected, she chose cinnamon. "I just love the spicy taste," she said.
Teddy grinned. "I know."
"So, how has school been for you?" he asked.
Victoire smiled. "It's been great. I feel kind of bad for the professors, though. James has been a little devil. From what Uncle Harry told me, he definitely takes after his two namesakes."
Teddy knew. Harry had been complaining to him as well. "Hopefully, Harry will be able to get him to behave, but I don't see that happening any time soon."
Victoire spoke some more and her hands moved animatedly between sips of tea and bites of pastry.
Teddy noticed she had a bit of cream on her upper lip and swallowed. He hoped she wouldn't mind, but it was too late to change his mind. He picked up a napkin and quickly dabbed her lip where the cream was.
Victoire's eyes were wide with her surprise, but she didn't seem to be upset, so Teddy counted that as a win for him.
When they were done and Teddy thought it went relatively well, Teddy helped her into her coat. Before she left, he took her hand and closed his eyes briefly at the feel of her soft skin. When he opened his eyes, he stared intensely into Victoire's. "Would you like to go out with me? Like on a real date?"
Victoire blushed, but she nodded. "Let me know when." And then she was gone.
Teddy smiled dreamily when he dropped into what had been her seat. Now he just needed the perfect first date.
