A/N: I had the craving to write another story, sooooo…here it is. It's kinda gonna be exactly like the movie Crossroads, except in Twilight style!

Confluences:

Prologue: 2003

Our giggles travelled around the little park – an unnecessary dwelling since Forks was all nature – as we dug into the muddy ground. My nails and hands were stained from the moist dirt, but for once it didn't worry me.

I watched my best friends dig with their toy shovels.

Rosalie's hair was matted with clumps of grime and grass and Alice's fashionable clothes were far from their natural colours. Our little bodies weren't used to the physical exertion and we were breathing heavily.

Rosalie looked up at me and laughed.

"You know, Bells. My mom thinks I'm at your house." She huffed as she dislodged a particularly stubborn rock.

"Mine does, too." Alice sniggered.

"And my dad," I sneezed before continuing. "- thinks I'm at your house, Rose." I wiped my nose with the back of my hand, feeling the filth smudge across my face.

In hindsight, a few years later, I think our parents knew that we had a little midnight rendezvous in the local park. Perhaps that was why there were a few adults loitering the dark gardens; babysitters.

My dad was hardly a fool, but we were only twelve years old at that time and our small minds had conjured the thoughts that we had fooled our guardians.

Alice reached behind her and held out a light yellow box, covered in pink glitter, cardboard flowers and words of friendship. A box filled with all our future wishes and goals. We had spent weeks collecting the items we wanted to deposit into the package and I wasn't sure what I had put in it anymore.

We had decided that no one was allowed to know what the other had put in the box. And after that rule was set, we had made a pact to dig up the box on the night of our graduation.

Alice held the box as Rose and I slipped the plastic cover over it. The plastic would protect the 'treasure chest' from the impending dirt and grass that would blemish it.

After I tucked it snuggly into the ground we filled the hole with the upturned soil, stepping on it to insure that it stayed put.

Of course tomorrow it'll rain and wash away any other trace of our buried secret.

We were incredibly filthy and wet, but our smiles were cheek-splitting. Alice looped her arm in mine and did the same with Rose.

With smiles and giggles we skipped away.

I don't remember what I wished for, but I remember our mutual hope.

We hoped that we would stay friends forever.

At least I knew that one didn't come true.

A/N: Yeah I know short chapter. I'll post the next one soon!

All my love
