There You'll Be
Characters are thanks to C.S. Lewis.

A small one-shot based with Eustace and Jill, probably done a few times but I was bored and this is what I came up with, enjoy.

I heard a soft familiar cry, "Pole? Is that you crying... again?" I asked calling out to the female. The crying went silent. I instantly stepped around the corner that was blocking my view from her, there was Jill with her puffy red eyes.

"What do you want, Scrubb?" she demanded sitting down in a ball on the floor, I joined her.

"I just wanted to see if you're okay, you seem to always throwing a fit." I than pulled out my hankie and handed it to her.

"I do not! Now I'd appreciate if you leave me alone."

I laughed at her stubbornness as she took my hankie, "We are friends, you know Jill," I paused after saying her actual name, "I mean Pole."

Jill laughed at my mistake and than told me, "It's okay, I don't mind you calling me by my first name."

I nodded and wrapped my arm around her, I could tell she was surprised by this action, so was I. We sat in silence for a good few minutes. I remember the first day Jill first began to cry, it had been a week after we arrived back. I personally thought things were going perfectly well at the school, Pole thought opposite.

"I really miss it, Scrubb, I really do!" She told me over and over, I replied with the same hopeful response every time: "We'll go back soon, don't worry Pole." I could tell she didn't believe me, she would roll her shoulders and than leave the room.

After the long silence Jill spoke, "Do you miss it, Eustace?"

"Miss what?" She shoved me, "Of course! I think about it all the time!"

"Your so lucky, you've been twice."

"Don't worry Pole... Jill, we'll go back soon."

I saw a large smile appear on Jill's face as she leaned against me, from that response I knew she would be fine. From that day on we began loosing up around each other (we began to call each other by our first names more and more), becoming very close friends.

Very roughly done I say. Hope you don't mind though, expect more Eustace and Jill one-shots (longer ones hopefully).
