Hawkeye oozed into the Jeep next to BJ. "Why can't leaves last till noon of the day we go back? Why are you so happy?" A very Dapper BJ looked at him and grunted. "Because I didn't drink half of Seoul."

Meanwhile back at the 4077th. Col. Potter looked up from his desk and thought about calling Radar in. "You wanted to see the duty roster for the week, sir?" Asked Radar as he came into the office. Potter and Radar began speaking at the same time. "Get me, you, the list of loaner chest cutters, and put it on my, your desk. And tell, I'll tell, Clinger that bugging the loaner for a Section 8, will not work, earn him a swift kick in the rear." Radar gasped an said "Golly". Potter went "Hot diggity! Didn't know I'd say that did you?" Before poor dumbstruck Radar could respond a beautiful but shrill voice yelled from the door as a beautiful blonde Major stormed in dragging a not so beautiful hairy man in a dress in by his ear. "This is an outrage! Colonel. I caught this, this pervert eating on top of the ER building in this skimpy gown." Potter looked stern yet amused seeing the spectacle. "What were you doing up the anyways?" -That time again folks, in coming wounded.-

Arms covered in gore, blood dripping from smocks and gloves alike the Operating room was deathly quiet. Suddenly a voice spoke up. "Where the hell are Peirce and Honeycutt?" A number of miles away in an abandoned shack stood two men. Working in extremely primitive condition to save a young Marine Lieutenant. Helping them was a Royal Army Corps surgeon by the name of Mallard. "Come on Ducky! Get that bleeder." Peirce was working in a way that seemed automatic. "Where the hell is the damn Evac Chopper?" After a few hours of work the LT seemed saved. A passing truck saw two of the surgeons outside covered in gore and stopped to see if they could help. From inside they heard a violent curse. "DAMN IT! WHY? WHAT DID I MISS."

Four months after this sad event worderfull news came through. The war was over they were going home. Three months after he got home to Crabapple Cove he took a trip to visit a grave. Doing something that generals and other officers rarely got from him. Hawkeye Peirce in full dress uniform saluted the grave marker of the man he tried to save.
