Winry had no time to go back to Pinako to tell her good bye. She had to choose, Ed and Al, or a life in Amestris. This was her crossroads of her fate between two different worlds. She sighed and went into the portal to "our" world, unbeknownst to Ed and Al. She chose the Elric Brothers in this timeline. There was no going back. This was her life now. Luckily, Mustang and the Elrics havent closed the gate between both worlds yet.

Winry grunted as she got up and rubbed her head as she fell in right behind Ed and Al who looked at her in shock.

"Winry?!" The brothers exclaimed, Ed seeming shocked and Al seemed happy but surprised as well.

"You leave for 3 years and come back for not even a day.. Are we that worthless for you?" Winry sniffed and had tears in her eyes and sounded like she was about to cry.

Ed looked disappointed in himself but gulped and looked at her, his eyes hard Alphonse was quiet.

"I had to do this. I couldn't risk Amestris being conquered or destroyed and I can't risk that here either, Winry. I wish I could have stayed, but this side of the portal had to be shut down."

"And you couldn't have Al just lend his soul to an armor like he did earlier and destroy the gate on this side WHILE you two stayed on the other side?!" Winry was crying now, feeling hurt

Ed and Al looked at each other. Both felt a sense of regret that they could have possibly done that. Looking at it now, it didn't make sense, but this was their life now. All three of them now. There wss no going back, remember?

Ed sounded a bit defeated but he wasn't out - Edward Elric never quits. He helped up Alfonse as they were both on their knees and went to comfort Winry. He had no words but could only comfort her and hold back his own frustration. He was an alchemist, but now he was just an 18 year old man in a world growing to war with his brother and best friend.

"I'm sorry, but we can't go back after that. It looks like Mustang already shut down the gate already." He said as he looked at what remained of the gate. "Let's go to where I've been staying at. It'll be okay, we have each other." He managed a thin weak smile. There was so much to do, they didn't know where to start.
