Gold Wrist Watches (Freewriting Experiment 4)

-An extremely short piece on original character development and 'enticing situation'-

Peter Pevensie died on November 17th, the same day that his sister, Susan, was to be married to Daniel Patch, an American of all things. Mister Patch, a man of respectability, was someone in the business of time- specifically, gold wrist watches. Silver wrist watches was the business of his cousin and bronze wrist watches was that of his sister. Daniel's business was gold wrist watches.

There was something…odd…about Daniel however. It was something I could not place my finger on. It was not his hair, for that was pristine brown with American curls and it was not his attire, for he was wearing a blue pressed tuxedo. Why on Earth he decided on the color does remain a mystery but that was not the oddity about him. Perhaps it was the way he proposed. One knee, produce ring, ask question, and await answer. The old clichéd standard. Maybe it was the way he looked at her and thought, this is the woman I am going to marry. Or, maybe it was that his wrist watch wasn't gold that day, but rather silver. On the face of that silver wrist watch was a splatter of blood that was not produced by the manufacturer…..
