Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction in which I own none of the characters

AN: Music seems to be ruling my fictions. Once again, Edward is out of character.

* smirks*

Winry thought she heard Edward's voice as she walked into the Rockbell house. To have the Elrics visit was a rare occasion in itself, but what she thought she heard was rarer still.

How Alphonse didn't hear this was beyond her.

Is he singing?

She snuck in, not even hearing her own footsteps. As she came closer to his room, it was clear she wasn't hallucinating. He was definitely singing.

"The warden threw a party in the county jail. Do-do The prison band was there and they began to wail do-do" She heard him mutter to himself in a tune she couldn't place. It was catchy though.

"The band was jumpin and the joint began to swing.

You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Lets rock, everybody, lets rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin to the jailhouse rock. Do do do do..."

She was smiling wide, and trying not to laugh as she opened the door. If singing wasn't enough of a surprise, he was dancing too… Edward. Dancing. Singing… to himself. The best part was he didn't seem to see her.

His hips moved the most in this weird/ fun-looking dance of his.

"Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone,

Little Joe was blowin on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,

The whole rhythm section was the purple gang.

Lets rock, everybody, lets rock.

Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin to the jailhouse rock."

It was certainly infectious. She started mimicking him in a sheepish sort of pace. Winry accidentally slammed into the side of the doorway and let out a small "eep!". She caught her balance but it was too late; she was spotted. Edward stopped suddenly and blushed. He didn't think there was an audience. After a moment though, like he was glad it was just her. Instead of excusing himself, he smiled and continued:

"Number forty-seven said to number three:

'You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.'"

He pointed at her, inviting her to join.

"I sure would be delighted with your company,
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me.

He pulled her into the dance, not breaking up the song once.

"no, no wait! Ed! I can't dance!" she protested, but her smile and the coat of blush betrayed her.

"Lets rock, everybody, lets rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the jailhouse rock…"

The rest tapered off into hums, proving he didn't actually know all the words. Along with the song, he ceased the dancing.

"Where did that song come from?" Winry asked, still giggling at the change in his usual behavior.

"No idea. I saw it somewhere when I was 10" He answered simply

Winry frowned in puzzlement. Where could he have been that he saw that kind of dancing at ten years old?

For those who have seen this video, just picture Ed doing a bunch of Elvis' moves at random ^//^
