Chapter 1: Back story
20 Years Earlier – 4th division headquarters – Birth room
Rukia, let out a shrill scream as she pushed; as Retsu head appeared from under the medical sheets.
"Rukia , I see the head …….it's crowing…..Give me another push."
Rukia let out a cry as she tried to push, but feel back slightly.
"I can't"
"Rukia, don't you dare say you can't …. You are one of the finest women I know, you found the love of your life and you are a soul reaper….Now your child needs you to push."
Rukia bit her bottom lip and started to push.
"Where are you Ichigo?"
Rukia said between grunts as she pushed.
"Oh Rukia we got the head….. One more big push"
Retsu said as she cradled the young babies head in her hands as she prepared to receive the rest of the child. As both shoulder slid past there confines of Rukia body and into the waiting arms of Retsu who quickly handed the baby to her lieutenant to be cleaned up. As Retsu turned back to Rukia, she noticed that Rukia was bleeding way too much.
"Retsu is the baby okay?"
Rukia said weakly as Retsu continued to work hard to save her fellow soul reaper.
"She a beautiful little girl….Rukia…but we have another problem so please bare with me for a moment."
Rukia nodded slightly as the Lieutenant brought Rukia the baby to hold. Rukia smiled slightly as she took a hold of her small little girl. Rukia lightly touch her child's orange hair as it cried out lightly, as it reminded her of Ichigo. Suddenly Rukia felt more pain come from her abdomen area. She let out a small whimper as she handed the baby back to the lieutenant before saying.
"Retsu… What a matter?"
Retsu did not answer as she keeps working. As Ichigo came barraging followed by a few others, Ichigo had a large and gaping wound over his right eye from a apparent battle. Ichigo went to Rukia side and cuffed her hands in his.
"Rukia I'm here everything will be okay."
"Liar"
Rukia said in a weak and playful tone as Ichigo looked at Retsu for some confirmation that he was correct but he received the opposite as she shook her head no. Ichigo felt his heart drop into his stomach at the thought of loosing Rukia
"It be okay Ichigo, You will have little Rin to look after now."
An with that said Rukia eyes closed, her hands slipped out of Ichigo's. When there wasn't any doubt she was gone Ichigo buried his face into Rukia arm. As he started to cry as Retsu came to his side and said.
"I tried my hardest Ichigo but I couldn't stop the bleeding."
Ichigo understood but it still hurt deep inside. He stood back up and looked down at Rukia body. He traced his fingers over Rukia body as he remembers the good times they shared. As he did this Byakuya Kuchiki walked into the room his normal Solomon face showed a few cracks as he remember his own wife's death . Byakuya walked up to Ichigo and put his hand on Ichigo shoulder.
