New Years kiss
Gajeel walked into the guild and headed for the bar. "Hello Gajeel what can I get you?" Mira asked politely, she was dressed fancier than usual in a pretty grey dress and had obviously spent quite a while on her hair today. "Tha usual and what with tha get up?" He enquired noticing how nice the dress looked on her as she got his drink. "Well there's a New Years party later for everyone in the guild you should come" Mira replied and handed his drink. "Thanks" Gajeel grumbled heading over to the table at the back where Levy sat reading a book on ancient magic.
"Hey shrimp...who ya going to the new year party tonight with?" He mumbled as he threw himself down on the bench opposite the bluenette. "Natsu" she smirked turning a strange shade of red and trying to hide behind her book. "Is Lucy ok with that" Gajeel stopped himself mid thought "wait she got with ice princess" Gajeel sighed and jumped up leaving his drink and heading towards the exit, this was the first time Levy had seen the iron dragon slayer visibly upset but she just likes him as a friend and she had already made plans with another dragon slayer, Natsu. Mira noticed him walk out and called to Cana who was sat on a keg rather than a stool "watch the bar I'll be back soon", "k" Cana said between downing some shots.
As Mira followed Gajeel through Magnolia she began feeling something she could explain but it was short lived as she looked up to find Gajeel looking strait at her. "Remember dragon slayers have heightened senses, anyway what do ya want?" He grunted. "Just wanted to make sure you were ok" she replied smiling sweetly at him. "I'm fine" he began looking at the floor avoiding her gaze. "Oh and I was wondering if you would like to go to the party with me" Mira chirped. After a short pause he looked up and grinned "alright but only 'cause ya got no one else to go with not 'cause I want, ya got that?" He said trying to act confident. "Yep" Mira nodded as she walked back to the guild.
As the night started to set in Gajeel found himself atually combing his hair and getting ready. As the time came and the pair met up Mira had that feeling again. All through the night the pair talked and laughed and some how Mira even got Gajeel to sing her a song which even though the others weren't big fans of, she enjoyed. As the clock stroke midnight all the couple leaned in for a kiss even Evergreen and Elfman, as Mira and Gajeel watched everyone something happened in them but the trance was broken when Elfman shouted "KISSING GIRLS IS MANLY!". Gajeel look at Mira and now she understood that feeling. Gajeel smiled "I ain't one to disappoint a crowd" as he pulled Mira close and their lips connected, for what felt like eternity to them. When they finally opened their eyes the whole room was clapping and smiling. "That's what a kiss feels like" both of them thought "I like kisses".
