Mr. Monk and the Copycat Killer:
In the suburbs of San Francisco there is an average neighborhood with a hint of middle-class charm. Cars come and go throughout the day, children laugh as they empty schools near by. Life was just... normal. And that's all most people every expected it to be.
The third house on the left, right in front of the local pet cemetery on Dogwood Boulevard, had been a well-known house since beautiful and kind, Austyn Codie had moved in several months prior to last Christmas.
Austyn was tall and thin, but curvy to say the least. Her skin was as pale as moonlight, which contradicted her midnight hair. Her bangs often fell into her emerald eyes, and anyone who knew her understood how annoying it was for her.
Most people wouldn't be able to believe she was a mother if it wasn't for the kids running around.
Her five-year-old son, Jaden, took after the estranged husband of a failed marriage. His tan complexion and soft brunette hair were featured of the highly secretive ex-lover, who few knew about.
The community on and around Dogwood Boulevard was a small one. Everyone knew each other and secret traveled fast, which is why when Austyn began getting threats, the entire neighborhood knew within the fist forty-eight hours.
But it wasn't until Austyn had a break-in one late Saturday night that she became truly concerned. The intruder was rummaging around in the den, and when she discovered him, he took a shot at her. Nothing serious, though her arm was in a sling. She called the cops, and waited in the dark.
