Johnny Capps has stated that Sir Leon will return in Series 3!!!!!

This is a spur of the moment fic typed up in fan excitement... read and enjoy.

Arthur stood by the window in his room, absentmindedly fingering the black ribbon tied around his arm. Eleven good knights had died last night in an effort to rid Camelot of the dragon. Eleven knights whose families grieved with him, eleven good knights who had so much more life ahead of them.

A party had gone out at dawn to collect the remains in order for a state funeral to be held. Unusually it was his father who headed it, Arthur couldn't face seeing... what he would. Especially not out on the same grass that he had fought on. For once his conscience didn't mock by calling him a coward, every part of him knew that just being there for the funeral would be hard enough.

Finally the horns sounded to indicate that the gathering was over. Silent in remorse for asking the men to join him on a suicide mission Arthur named every one who had ridden with him.

Leon

Sir Leon, his ever loyal second-in-command. The first knight to step forward at his request. The bravest of the whole lot his mind added It takes great courage to go first. If he had to pick out one from all the twelve it would be Leon that he would miss most. Sometimes the man was slightly simple but, like Merlin, Arthur loved him for that. Tears slid down his cheeks as he remembered everything that knight had done to help him, joining Gaius to tell Uther about the troll for instance.

Oh God, Leon I will miss you.

"Sire" Merlin stuck his head through the door "There is someone who wishes to see you"

Arthur made a noncommittal gesture with one arm and heard the door open wider, then close behind the person. Gathering his inner strength he waited

"My lord" Gods... Arthur knew that voice. He sat bolt upright and gazed at his visitor.

The man wore a red cloak that was so badly singed it was almost unrecognizable. His dragon tabard was in a similar state and the chainmail was blackened. But his face was unharmed and that same warm smile Arthur had occaionally been treated to when they were both off duty was firmly fixed onto it

"LEON!!!!!!!" Hardly knowing his own actions Arthur leapt off the bed and grabbed his friend in a hug "Leon, thank god..."

The knight responded with an equally vigorous embrace before standing as Arthur drew back and placed hands on his shoulders

"You survived

"Yes Sire I was the lucky one.." Leon dropped his gaze, the smile gone

Arthur slapped his shoulder "From now on Leon, I am Arthur to you"

Leon smile again and reciprocated when an arm was thrown around his shoulder.

Side by side, almost equals the two men walked out of the Princes chambers.

I never thought I was a Leon fan but glad to know he's comming back. Pass the word
