Dear Friend.
"It's raining today. Is it raining where you are?" I whisper.
I look up to the sky. Its silver grey face, weeping.
"I guess not." I chuckle to myself. Why do I always wait for an answer?
"I got a new team of Genin today. ", I sigh as I remove my forehead protector. Droplets of rain scatter as I untie the knot harshly. I watch as the mingle in with the falling rain, Like joining a family.
Yeah. Joining a family...
Just like we once was.
You...me and Rin. I smile, I can still remember that day.
Like today meeting my team, it was like looking in on a memory.
"One of them is the last Uchiha. Yeah I know; the last one. How are the rest of them Obito?" I ask the stone in front of me. Once again I wait for an answer it's a habit I'll have to get out of. "He has your determination which he uses for the wrong reasons. He's called Sasuke."
I bend down and look at your final resting place. Its rain sodden and weather beaten, but if I trace the lettering with my fingertips. I can still feel you underneath them like I did the day you slipped out of them.
The tears we both cry are warm. I know they are there; I don't need to check for them. They are always there. They fall the same way, making a tear stained path down my left cheek and lay to rest in the navy cotton I wear to hide my shameful upbringing.
"One of them is as loud and clumsy as you. He's called Uzamaki Naruto. He's who the fourth sealed the Kitsune no Kyuubi in. He wants to be Hokage one day." My fingers, still ghosting over the letters.
"Then there is Haruno Sakura. " I sigh. "She is nothing like Rin. She's not taking being Genin seriously enough. She's too busy trying to get Sasuke to notice her. But by her records her chakra skills are outstanding. Just like Rin."
Standing up and straightening myself out. And take a deep breath. Holding one gloved hand out in front of me. I notice its stopped raining. I smile, as a gentle ray of light hits were you lay.
"I guess you haven't left me after all. Your in both those boys and Rin in the girl."
Subconsciously I close my left eye. "I have you too."
Closing my left eye as a breeze hits the exposed portion on my face. I smile knowing you are still here with me and protecting my team 7 too. As you once did in ours.
Thank you my dear friend.
