Short drabble that I whipped up in 2 minutes.

Flashes of brilliant stars against a darkened sky. That was all Ana could see as she spun in circles in the cool night with her husband leading the slow dance. She couldn't even see Christian's face, her face was buried in clean silk shirt that smelt of unadulterated Christian-ness. But it didn't matter.

Nothing mattered right then, but the knowledge that her children were tucked safe in bed and that she was slow dancing with Christian on the terrace of their house. She couldn't have asked for anything more...

She loved the way Christian's arm was steadily wrapped around her petite waist, the way his hands clasped her own, the way he had his head buried in her dark hair... It was perfect.

"Ana, love?"

Christian's voice was like smooth velvet in the cool moonlit night and Ana's lips curved into a smile against the crook of his neck, where her head was buried. "Hmmm?"

"What are you thinking about?"

Ana smiled as Christian spun her in a circle again. "A lot of things, actually. Teddy and his newest crush, Phoebe's upcoming birthday party... But mostly, about us."

Christian caught Ana back in his arm, so Ana was looking at his chiselled handsome face. He looked beautiful in the moonlight, his copper curls glinting with fire, his face half shadowed and half lit in the soft light. "Us? What about us?"

Ana pressed her head to his chest again, her hands moving to stroke Christian's copper curls. "I missed this, Christian. I missed us. We've been so busy with life and all that it's been throwing at us that we haven't had time to enjoy the small moments in life."

A cool thumb pressed under her chin and soon she was looking up at her husband's grey eyes. He looked confused. "But Ana, we've been fine. We still have fun at night even if the day has drained us," he said.

"That's different," Ana said. She vaguely realised that they had stopped dancing and were now just standing in the middle of the terrace, with the cool wind blowing against them.

The corner of Christian's lips tugged down like he was frowning. "Baby, are you alright?"

Ana sighed, a few tears gathering under her dark lashes. "Well, yes. It's just that..."

Christian kissed her forehead softly. "Yes love?"

"We've been having fun Christian. But that's all. We don't really spend time like we used to. I missed you. I missed this between us."

Christian looked surprised momentarily. "You're unhappy."

It wasn't a question so much as it was a fact. His voice was brittle and it slashed at Ana's heart. "I'm happy, Christian. I'm with you aren't I? I just meant, that life is catching up with us. We're... We're letting life get in our way of things."

Christian sighed, his hands gripping her shoulders with a warm and firm hold. "I didn't know you felt that way. I'm sorry."

Ana looked up horrified. "Don't apologise, baby. You didn't do anything wrong."

"Ana..." Christian closed his eyes, his lashes a dark crescent on his cheeks. "How can I amend this?"

"How about dancing again?" Ana suggested cheekily.

Christian chuckled and Ana loved the way his chest rumbled with that pleasant sound. He pulled Ana closer to him, and they beagan to sway to the light lilting melody. "I won't let anything between us again."

"I know."

"Ana?"

"Hmmm?"

"I missed us too. I missed this."

Christian pressed a soft and chaste kiss on Ana's lips. It was pure and true and sweet - different from the hungry make out sessions in their bedroom in the nights. It was magic, under the moon.

And it was perfect. All regrets were forgotten, but the feeling of pure love embracing them as they kissed in the terrace of their palace.

No wonder they had missed this.

I hope that was good. Please Review and make my New Year!
