Helen sounded the doorbell impatiently and waited. It was Christmas Day, she was there to drop off her presents to Rachel, then onto Frank and Tayler.
"Come on Rachel," she muttered, glancing at her watch. Strange noises came from the inside, some giggles (??!) and a loud curse.
"Coming!" called Rachel's voice a bit later, and the door was opened to reveal a flustered Rachel.
"Helen," she smiled too widely, "nice off you to drop by!"
"You have company Rachel?" Helen asked, trying to peak into the hallway behind her.
"No, no" Rachel said at the same time as a loud crash could be heard from the living room.
"Sure?" Helen asked, barely withholding a wide grin.
"That's just.. umm.. nothing…" Rachel explained, "the tree probably fell over, ya know."
"Sure.. ya have some tinsel in your hair," Helen remarked, pulling out several strands.
"From decorating the tree, ya know," Rachel smiled, a bit strained now, "did you want something?"
"Yes.. Here's your present, Merry Christmas!"
"Thanks Helen!" Rachel exclaimed, giving her a hug.
"I have a present to you too!" she said, unnecessarily loud, then reached behind her and pulled up a gift.
"Here.. so Merry Christmas then!" she declared, and suddenly almost jumped. Helen stared at her, trying to peak behind her, but Rachel was blocking the view.
"Everything fine?"
"Yeah.. just remembered all the things I hafta do… Ya know, busy.. busy!" The last word came out very strained, and Helen could swear Rachel was blushing.. but that couldn't be.
"So yeah.. c ya at work!" Rachel exclaimed, closing the door quickly and turning to the innocent looking Frank, wearing *only* a ribbon.
"You bastard!" she hissed, "Helen was right there!"
He held his hands out innocently.
"I was just giving ya Helen's present," he remarked
"You pinched my butt!!"
"But it's so pinchable," he grinned, "and what happened to my Christmas present? I gave you yours… with a ribbon and everything!" She giggled, then eyed him.
"Presents with ribbons are the best kind," she remarked, grabbing him by the ribbon and pulling him closer
"Want yours now do you?" she asked
"Yes, please," he grinned.
She leaned forward to tap him on the nose.
"You looked good under the tree though," she grinned, and lead him into the living room.
"Not as good as you will wearing only tinsel!" he declared, already imagining it. She thwarted him playfully.
"The best Christmas gift I have ever gotten," he smiled, sneaking in a little kiss.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. So, do ya think Helen detected anything?"
"Nah."
Meanwhile, outside, Helen was approaching her car when she noted another car almost hidden behind Rachel's. A wide grin spread across her face, and she checked Frank off her list, knowing he was probably getting all the Christmas gifts he could handle about now.
She laughed all the way over to Tayler's house.
