As we broke through the trees I stopped. I waited patiently for her to climb down, and got anxious when she didn't.
"Bella?" I asked, worried now. "I think I need to lie down," she gasped.
"Oh, sorry." I waited, but she still didn't let go. Not that I mind, her warmth is comfortable. "I think I need help," She admitted. I chuckled and helped her carefully down from my back and turned her so that I could examine her. She looked so pale, and I immediately regretted it. What was I thinking?
I carefully placed her on the springy ferns.
"How do you feel?" I asked anxious for the answer.
"Dizzy, I think."
"Put your head between your knees," I instructed. As she did as I instructed, I examined her closely. Her face was almost as pale as mine, her cheeks did not held her familiar blush that I had grown quite found of, her lips were a little redder than normally. They look so smooth and inviting, I just wanted to kiss them. Whish gave me an idea. I smiled at my new plan.
"I guess that wasn't the best idea," I mumbled.
"No, it was very interesting." Interesting? She looks almost as a ghost.
"Hah! You're as white as a ghost – no you're as white as me.!"
"I think I should have closed my eyes."
"Remember that next time."
"Next time!" she groaned. I laughed, still happy about my plan.
"Show-off," she muttered. I chuckled, to low for her to hear. I though of my plan, better now than never, I guess.
"Open you're eyes, Bella," I said quietly. Nervous. Yes… am nervous. I am about to experience my first kiss, so I have right to be nervous.
She opened her eyes; she was surprised to see how close I was.
"I was thinking, while I was running…" I paused. Not knowing what to say.
"About not hitting the trees, I hope."
"Silly Bella," I chuckled. "Running is second nature to me, its not something I have to think about."
"Show-off," she muttered again. I chuckled.
"No, I was thinking it was something I wanted to try." I took her face in my hands again, careful, as not to break her. She stopped breathing.
I hesitated.
What if I hurt her? What if she didn't want me to? What if I weren't good? I waited, seeing how she would welcome me.
When I couldn't take it anymore I pressed my lips to hers. They were softer than I thought, and very warm. I found I liked it. The blood-lust forgotten.
What I wasn't prepared for was her reaction. The blood began to boil under her lips. Her breath came in a wild gasp, her hands knotted in my hair, clutching me to her. Her lips parted and she breathed in my scent. My blood-lust came back double force. I froze. My hands carefully pushed her face back. She opened her eyes, watching my guarded expression.
"Oops," she breathed. I held my breath.
"That's an understatement."
I fought back the blood-lust, thinking on my family and Charlie.
"Should I…" she tried to get up, but I wouldn't let her, it wasn't safe yet.
"No, it's tolerable. Wait for a moment, please." I kept my voice even.
I slowly regained my control and smiled. Bella responded with a smile of her own, which left me breathless. She's so beautiful, I cant believe she's mine.
That night I told her I had been in her room before, and watched her sleep talk, she wasn't angry, just embarrassed. But what made my day was when she said I love you in her sleep.
