After school I went out to the playground to find my grandmother. She was there waiting for me with my winter coat in her hands. "It's too cold outside to not have a coat on." She said as she put the coat on me and zipped it up. Then she pulled the hood up over my head. It was a very hot walk home for me.
The next morning my grandmother made sure I would be warm on our walk to school. She had me wear gloves, a hat, a scarf, and my winter coat with the hood up. I was way too hot but she insisted on it. Even when it was warmer outside after school I still had to wear everything home.
By the time winter came, my grandmother had me bundling up so much that I could barely move. She made me wear snow pants, winter boots, a few sweaters, two winter coats, and a giant parka. I also had to wear gloves under my mittens, a balaclava, a fur cap, a few scarves, and all my hoods up.
I got so hot every time I had to wear my winter clothes that my hair would be wet with sweat whenever I undressed. I got made fun of a lot for how I was forced to dress, it was so embarrassing having to change in and out of all my winter clothes.
My grandmother meanwhile insisted that I fully bundle up every time I went outside. In the morning I was getting all of my clothes on. I got into my snowpants and my grandmother was helping me get my boots on. "Grandma," I said. " I get so hot wearing all this stuff. Why can't you let me dress like everyone else?" She finished getting my left boot on and I got my right one on. "It's very cold outside, you have to be really bundled up or you'll get sick." I got into my inner coat and put on my balaclava and fur cap. My grandmother then wrapped a scarf over my face and pulled the hood up. "If I go to school like this I won't get sick," I managed to mumble through my scarf. "Stop whining and listen to me, you're going to wear your winter clothes and that's that!" My grandmother said as she got me into another coat. I didn't try arguing anymore as I got into my outer parka and finished bundling up. After my grandmother wrapped my last scarf she started getting her winter gear on. I stood there sweltering as she dressed herself. Finally she was ready to go and we both made our way outside.
I waddled behind her getting more hot and more uncomfortable with every step. I struggled to keep up with her, walking is not easy when I'm this bundled up. I had to always look straight ahead to see where she is because I could barely see anything through the tiny eye slit left by my balaclava, hat, hoods, and scarves.
