Chapter 1
There was a girl walking. She had dirty blond hair, a withered face, and broken nails. She was walking with her feet squelching out blood every time she took a step. If anyone else was in this situation, they would have given up. Maybe, they would decide to stop in the forest that surrounded them, sit, and wait for death to come, but not her. Maybe, it was because she had suffered so much and was hardened. Maybe, it was just fear of what would happen if she stopped. Either were good guesses, but both would be wrong.
Walking, bleeding, and hurting, she went forward for hours not stopping to rest or to eat. Finally, after who knows how many hours, she saw someone...a knight. The knight had dark black armour with gold trimming and a red flowing cape behind him. On his back, he carried two giant sword and rode a horse that was black. Behind him, a girl followed. She wore a burgundy cape, a white shirt, and a sword. She also had her hair tied up in a ponytail and rode brown horse that seemed more tired than anything.
The girl collapsed in front of them. She was at their mercy. If this is the end she thought so be it. She couldn't do anything else. I am sorry she said inwardly clutching her stomach I am sorry for being so weak, and with that she started to blackout.
Ainz hated surprises, but multiple surprises were something that he hated more. A villager came to him asking the great dark hero to rid his village of the dragon. Ever since his "death" at the hand of Jaldaboath, the rogue demihumans became bolder and started causing trouble everywhere and this included the oh so noble dragons, so somebody, meaning adventurers, had to step in.
He decided to accept the quest and went over to the village to rid the dragon, but soon things went to hell quickly. Suprise 1: The "dragon" turned out to be a goblin king. Surprise 2: When he and Nabe killed the goblins, they exploded. Surprise 3: He misread the reward as it turned out to be 10 gold not 100.
So, here he was riding a horse with Nabe in tow covered in goblin guts and a fistful of gold coins to return south to the Tomb of Nazarick for a good bath.
How on earth did this happen he thought to himself I was supposed to garner glory for Momonga not garnish in goblin guts?
Ainz looked behind him and saw Nabe and her horse. When the confusion about the payment came up, the villagers tried to make up for it by giving him and Nabe horses. Her horse was a old, brown mare who would look more at home at a graveyard. It refused to move half the time and wander into the brush for the other half. His horse, a jet black mustang, was far better. It responded to everything Ainz told it to do, and, when kicked into high gear, it could probably outrun a car from Ainz´s old world.
Nabe kicked the mare and got her moving, but she was still fuming.
¨Lord Momonga, why do we have to ride these infernal beasts?¨
Because it is amazing to ride a horse and it looks badass! But I can tell her that. Instead he said,¨It is to assimilate with humans better Nabe. Don´t you think people will start asking questions how we get to villages so fast? On top of that, a horse is a sign of prestige. Are you saying Nabe that I, Ainz Ooal Gown, one of the Forty-One Supreme beings do not deserve a magnificent creature?¨
¨Of course not my lord!¨ Nabe replied immediately with a kick to her mare ¨ I would never want to let you walk on the ground like those insects.¨ After that, she quieted down.
As their journey continued, Ainz noticed something up ahead. A woman. She was walking slowly yet surely. She wore rags that seemed to be black and white, as if coal was poured on it. Her hair was a dirty blonde and her feet were bleeding. I should leave her alone he thought She looks like a crazy person.
Then, she collapsed. Ainz stopped the horse and looked at the girl. If he helped her, it would be beneficial to the name of Momonga, but he really didn't want to. I already have goblin guts all over; I don't need another problem, but the girl groaned and kept on groaning.
Nabe drew her sword. "Do you wish me to silence this pest Lord Momonga?' she asked. Ainz made a movement of his hand which told her to stop. He got down from his stallion, knelt, and picked up the girl. He was taken back by her beauty. Her hair may be mess, but her face was as beautiful as Albedo.
"I...mu...ee...Lo..De….e,"she muttered
"What? Speak louder." Ainz commanded.
"I...must...see...rd...ruge…" she said a bit louder.
"Louder." Ainz said once more.
"I must see Lord Demiurge." With that one sentence, everyone fell silent. Nabe immediately stabbed at the girls throat, but before it even broke the skin it was caught by her master's hand.
"NABE!"
"Lord Ainz forgive me, but this insect must be disposed of! She knows the identity of Lord Demiurge and wishes to meet him. Who knows what this could mean?"
"Exactly! So why should we kill her, when we don't know what this means?"
"Better to be safe than sorry!"
"Calm down this instant Nabe! This is an order from you superior!"
"But-"
"NOW!" Nabe stopped for a moment, loosened the sword from her masters hand, and sheathed it. Ainz looked back at the girl. Either he should kill her or take her back with him. If he left her go, who knows who she might run into and blabber on about, but what if this was a coincidence? Surely, there was not only one Demiurge in the world, but she called him Lord. If there was any lords with such names in the Sorcerer Kingdom, he did not know about it. What should he do? What should he do!
He looked at her once again and then noticed something odd. He had seen this face before or at least heard about it. Could it be her? The Holy Queen? He had heard about her from Demiurge's report, but never seen her in person, not even her corpse. She was dead though. This was impossible! Demiurge confirmed that he disposed of her, but why was she here then?
He made a choice.
"Nabe, contact Shalltear. We are bringing her to the Tomb Of Nazarick."
