A new day arose on the continent of Kanto. The sun shone, exposing everything from the high snowy mountains in the North and East, to the endless, Sapphire blue oceans going far off to the south, and the central grassy plains in between. The Pidgey's chirped, singing their beautiful song to all four corners of the land. Exploring this land, we find many small towns and villages, all scattered about but each with its own sense of unique identity. From the bustling metropolis of Saffron city to the small, rural comfort of Pallet town. Everywhere has a sense of joy and happiness that comes with the spring season.
Zooming in through the trees we find a large clearing. Inside this, we discover the sleepy paradise of Pallet town. This small town which had become famous for producing Pokemon Trainers like Red and Blue, and the genius of professor Oak. But this is not their story, This is the story of a different trainer, As we have seen so many times before.
"Ben, you need to get out of bed to get your starter from the professor!" The poor boy's mother hollered up the stairs, getting increasingly agitated by his laziness.
"Alright, Mum" yelled the boy, throwing on his clothes on and sprinting out his room and rushing to the kitchen, eager to get his adventure started. He wanted to follow in the footsteps of the hundreds of trainers before him. Trying to get to that most mythical of places, the indigo plateau.
While he was contemplating his affairs, his mother was looking at him strangely. Neither she nor her husband could imagine in their youth wanting to go off adventuring with these strange creatures.
" Ah, they grow up so fast." She wistfully thought, staring out the window into the large forest bordering the town.
"Its 10 o'clock! Sorry mum gotta run!" Exclaimed Ben, rushing out the door to the lab, slamming the door on his way out. On his rushed journey to the lab he started to think about what he wanted to do after he finished his journey. However, this thought was interrupted by the looming presence of the now world-famous Pokemon Lab. His sudden confidence was cut short when he saw the lab. Even though he saw it every day it still had the ability to take his breath still. It was massive.
Even with this massive attack of the nerves he still summoned up the courage to walk through the door to his new adventure.
"Well Ben, Your just on Time." Scolded the aged professor appearing from behind one of the many machines. "You Know back in my day people had this thing called punctuality, it meant that people always tried to arrive early instead of just nearly getting there on time" the educated Oak continued ranting.
"Yeah, sorry I just woke up late" Apologized Ben, Not wanting to anger the man who held the key to his adventure.
"Its alright, just don't make it a habit." Lectured Oak. Saying this he swept off to the table with the Three Pokeballs on it. He turned to the boy "So Ben, do you want Charmander, The Fire-Type starter. Or possibly Squirtle, The Water-Type starter. Or maybe Bulbasaur, The Grass/Poison Type starter?"
Ben thought long and hard about the choice ahead of him.
"I think I'll take Bulbasaur please, professor."
And so the journey began
